In my original post about my Doctor, I stated that he paid little attention to me once he found out that I have a disability. Since the appointment, I have learned that he violated one of my patient rights. Originally I filed a complaint against my doctor but have since withdrawn it. I have been exploring what I should do if I find myself in another situation where a doctor is not paying attention to me.
I think a very obvious solution is to never bring up a non- medical issue in another doctor’s appointment again. Maybe the problem won’t repeat itself. Many people have told me that I am my own advocate.
I withdrew my complaint because it’s my word against his and the clinic. They would mop the floor with me.
I’m doing okay now but I was upset for several days after the appointment.
Right now the last thing I need is to get tangled up in a nasty situation with a clinic. The only clinic around that takes Medicaid where I live. I would have bigger problems if the clinic decided it didn’t want to treat me anymore.
I still believe my patient rights were violated but I think that the Lord would want me to let it go and forgive the clinic and the doctor involved.
