My wife got a blood test she could possibly be pregnant.

So my wife yesterday got a blood test done because shes been having over a dozen pregnancy symptoms as many of you know. But yesterday morning two days after her expected period she noticed some bleeding and she immediately thought it was her period and got discouraged. So I looked it up and saw that she could potentially be having a miscarriage or about to have one so we rushed to a walkin clinic after she got home from work. They gave her a urine test there and it was negative but I told the doctor her suspected implantation cramps were from the first to the 3rd and the ones on the 3rd were very mild pressure so we suspect that she finished implanting on either the 3rd or the 4th and she was like "ok so her hcg levels would be way too low for a urine test to detect then by now let's do a blood test that should tell us something"

We got the results of that blood test back last night but the results are very confusing to us and we want to confirm with the clinic if the results were 0.0 or if there was some hcg in her system. Because the blood test results said <5. You would think if there was no hcg in her system the results would say 0.0 completely negative and not <5 and im also curious as to exactly what level of hcg was found in her system.

But anyway last night the blood got a lot heavier and she reported that it was clearly her period so I told everyone including the Christian organization that was going to do the free pregnancy test on her that she got her period and wasn't pregnant including my mom and Elder Larry. But now? Im not sure. Theres some hcg in her system allegedly do there could be hope. But her bleeding definitely has me concerned if she is pregnant. Were calling her gynecologist tomorrow and seeing if we can see her before ive got to be in Burlington for a cardiology appointment to see about potentially getting my PFO closed. So.. please pray for us and for our potential child that could be there.

Shes seeing a gynecologist in an hour and 45 minutes. Its a half hour appointment allegedly so I will tell you what the doctor says and hopefully he has the exact level of hcg that was found in her system yesterday afternoon. But my mom who was a RN for over 40 years and is retired now said that since the level of hcg found in her system was less than 5 and conception happened 3 weeks ago a result of less than 5 and heavy bleeding likely means that if a baby is or was present than its likely too late for a gynecologist to do anything to save the baby. She likely already miscarried or is about to.

But... Hopefully he (the gynecologist) will confirm that for us... and if thats true it gives me hope because we've been trying for a decade to make this baby and it means we can actually make something and its not absolutely impossible for us to make children.


But basically ive been hoping and praying nonstop that if theres ANY chance at all of saving this baby that God would give it to me... and for once in my life? Im not asking if its within his will... im desperate...

I don't like this gynecologist... he was very cold and very mean to us.

He said that a blood rest result of <5 meant that Jeanette was not pregnant. And when i asked him if it meant that there was ANY hcg in her system because if there was ANY hcg in her system we either created something and she had a chemical pregnancy, she had a miscarriage recently and the next few days should be very telling, or she's currently carrying something he basically said "medically speaking most of that doesn't matter except for the fact that she may have possibly had a miscarriage but i think that given her low hcg result i think that's unlikely." And I was like "so if we made something and we made a life that life is unimportant?" And he was like "medically speaking that would be considered a nonpregnancy yes." And I was like "so a fertilized egg is not a life and is not a pregnancy? I'm sorry sir but I totally disagree with you." I was SO mad.

And then the gynecologist had the audacity to call me her casual sex partner and I was like "im her husband... we've been married for almost 11 years..." just... so many different things. And then he gave me the benefit of the doubt and wanted to do an ultrasound and a repeat blood test to ease my suspicions and confirm whether or not affirmatively there was something there but he ordered the blood test for today... and of COURSE the reading came back less than 5 again. He LITERALLY tested the very next day... i am SO upset with him... we spent probably $200 or more on a blood test that was COMPLETELY useless! *sigh*!!!

Anyway... the next few days should be telling but in the meantime... I'll be praying nonstop for this baby because i don't care what this gynecologist says... this baby exists or existed...

So we finally got an answer... its not a very good or positive one... the doctor had ordered a prolactin test because we suspected that we had created something and that she was pregnant and the results came back late last night.

It turns out? They were high enough to definitely prove that we weren't crazy. We did in fact create something. The bad news? They were also low enough to definitely prove that Jeanette likely lost the baby...

I don't know how to process this news... I created a life for the first time in a decade and my first child God decides to take away? I.. dont understand...
