  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man

9 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. 2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”

3 At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”

4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?5 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” 7 Then the man got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.

The Calling of Matthew

9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.

10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Maybe Trump can preach a little on the virtues of chastity and fidelity.
What does Trump have to do with Kid Rock’s faith in Jesus Christ? Was a president voted into office or a pastor? Sheesh you guys. Not healthy. :praying: Don’t derail the thread with the Trump fascination please.

I suppose we've hit the root of your issue, wrong "team"...politics leading the way.

Kid Rock has publicly affirmed his Christian faith, describing himself as a "God-fearing" man and expressing belief in Jesus during a 2024 podcast appearance.

That's a great start. Now, let's see how much he allows Christ to change him.

Good for him! I thank God for his mercy and forgiveness everyday. We all sin and fall short, and I am the chief of sinners.

May God keep him under his loving care.

People have probably said the same about Matthew the despised tax collector and others as well. What comes first? What Jesus came here to do for us or the next few years of what you see as radical right wing people finding faith? One must set their priorities. Do you think what people write as lyrics are things they have actually experienced and done or was it done to promote their brand? I can name a lot of songs from both sides of the aisle that have done the same. It’s time to get a grip on reality. The op is about an alternate halftime show. Not about digging up imaginary muck based on song lyrics he has no plan of performing.
It's called "optics." If your "brand" is having sex with underage girls, when you promote a faith-based song, I tend to write you off as a hypocrit and pay no attention to anything you say. I'm not just calling out Kid Rock. And by the way a ton of the rappers and rockers out there did indeed actually experience what their lyrics said. There are a zillion pictures and articles out there testifying to some ultra wild lives if you know where to look. I haven't heard of him repenting or leaving his past behind, but then again, I've never been a fan. If he has turned his life around and now follows Christ, I congratulate him and wish him God speed.

I wish as Christians we'd stop falling for such obvious acts of manipulation.

Ok. I’m not willing to judge that situation but if you are because… politics. You do you.

The whole point of this alternative half-time show is because of some really stupid politics. There's going to be a Puerto Rican performer and that's made a lot of people throwing a tantrum over it.

This Kid Rock "faith song" is nothing more than an obvious attempt to paint this MAGA alternative as "the Christian" choice for a half-time show. It's just another example in a long tradition of religion being used as a marketing gimmick.

As I said, you do you. Everyone is going to believe what they want. I’ve heard the testimony about his belief in Jesus Christ and following him in his own faith journey. I or nobody else can judge that. It all comes down to politics. Those that let Trump dictate their every thought may have doubts. But politics and faith are two very different things. Bottom line is if your politics do not agree with my politics, you are fake and manipulative. Faith comes before politics no matter who someone votes for. We all have our personal journeys to walk. Nobody can judge another’s servant. So you got to let it go and let God.

I'm not following this thread closely, so no, I haven't read all there is about Kid Rock. If he has turned his life around, Glory to God for another soldier in Christ's army.

The South Carolina stop of the 2026 Rock the Country traveling festival has been canceled outright following Shinedown’s decision to drop off the bill. The two-day event was set to take place July 25th and 26th in Anderson, South Carolina.

Rock the Country originally announced eight cities, with Kid Rock headlining five of the stops. While Kid Rock was not on the South Carolina lineup, he is perhaps the face of the traveling festival.

When the 2026 festival tour was announced, Kid Rock stated, “Rock the Country isn’t just a music festival; it’s a movement. In 2026, as America celebrates its 250th anniversary, this is a place for hard-working, God-fearing patriots to gather as one and celebrate freedom, music, and the party of the year.”

Word is getting out.

Apparently, Bad Bunny set a record for views of a half-time show, over 135 million. Kid Rock got about 6.1 million, about what one might expect. No doubt the exposure of his work featuring pedophile-suggestive lyrics hurt him, even with MAGA.

Apparently, the 135 million watching the stupid Bad Bunny show were the same numbers whom were watching the game.
