• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sirach 47:2-11

“With his whole heart David loved his Maker and daily had his praises sung.”

David readily praised the Lord and with the people.

Mark 6:14-29

In the Gospel, people present Jesus as they think they know him. For some, he is John the Baptist, for others, Elijah or a prophet.

The difficulty we may encounter from others is that they give to Jesus an identity other than his own.

1 Kings 3:4-13

“Give your servant a listening heart to judge your people and to distinguish between good and evil.”

This is a wonderful request Solomon made to God. And it opened the door of his heart to receive wisdom, as long as he remained listening to the Lord.

Mark 6:30-34

More people are hearing about Jesus and are following him to hear and observe him.

Let us observe the presence of Jesus in the world and the love of God in people’s hearts.

Isaiah 58:7-10

The Lord is always with us; we simply need to allow Him to gently open the space of our hearts.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5

"With a demonstration of spirit and power."

When we are attentive to God within us, He can act as He pleases. The Holy Spirit touches people’s hearts with love, joy, and peace.

Matthew 5:13-16

"You are the salt of the earth."

Salt retains its saltiness when we allow the Lord to speak with us each day.

“The glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord!”

The glory of the Lord is his grace, and grace is love, and love is God.

Thank you, Lord, for every second you are present in us.

Mark 6:53-56

The presence and grace of God are with Jesus wherever he goes. And it is this glory that touches people and heals them.

It is wonderful when we can sense God’s presence with us and with the people we meet along the way.

Mark 7:1-13

“This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”

The most important in our relationship with God is a heart-to-heart with him.

1 Kings 10:1-10

The grace received by a person, here Solomon, becomes visible. And the Queen of Sheba testifies to this.

Mark 7:14-23

"From their hearts, come evil thoughts."

...when it is closed to God.

But when a person welcomes God's Love into their heart and being, the rays of God's Love flow forth and radiate onto all.

1 Kings 11:29-32; 12:19

When we welcome the Lord into our lives, group life will evolve, and sometimes some of these groups will move on to other things. If these groups remain with the Lord, evangelization will continue.

Mark 7:31-37

Jesus said, “Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”). His ears opened, and he spoke plainly.

The more we welcome the Lord into our hearts, the more we hear the Lord, and the more we teach love, peace, and joy.

“This people go up to offer sacrifices in the house of the Lord in Jerusalem.”

After the Ark was in Jerusalem, the people lived regularly with the Lord.

Mark 8:1-10

“They ate and were satisfied. They picked up the fragments left over—seven baskets.”

For us, we have the grace to regroup, but also to receive the Eucharist, God himself who nourishes us.

Sirach 15:15-20

“God never commands anyone to sin.”

God does not permit evil. God is never complicit in evil. God is love, peace, and joy.

1 Corinthians 2:6-10

Paul speaks of God’s wisdom. It cannot be compared to the wisdom “of the rulers of this age.”

Matthew 5:17-37

“Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’

Jesus always teaches us what is too simple. When he enlightens us, we find answers, simply.

James 1:1-11

“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God.”

Let us ask God for wisdom even if we think we are wise. Let us remain with God, as Jesus did.

Marc 8:11-13

“Why does this generation seek a sign?”

We do not need signs. Let us receive God’s grace in this moment. We discover it through the joy of the child within us.

James 1:12-18

No one experiencing temptation should say, “I am being tempted by God.”

Often, people say this in veiled terms. Let us discern the times when we blame God for evil.

Then, let us thank Him for His love within us, which protects us from temptation.

Mark 8:14-21

“Guard against the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

Let us be careful not to be taken in by selfishness and pride, even if it seems like strength to others.

Joel 2:12-18

“Rend your hearts not your garments, and return to the Lord, your God.”

Let us allow the Lord to open our hearts with His love; it is so much sweeter. Returning to the Lord, allowing Him to be with us, is a daily practice; letting Him love us.

2 Corinthians 5:20–6:2

“Be reconciled to God.”

Let us allow the Lord to love us right now.

Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

“Your Father who sees in secret will repay you.”

God offers us His love, His joy, and His peace right now.
