  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In your OP, which sets the topic for the thread?
My apologies - The thread is five months old and I did not go back and re-read 119 posts. I forget sometimes that very old threads find new life.

The issues surrounding Letitia James raise serious concerns about the politicization of law enforcement. Critics argue that her high-profile investigations and lawsuits against political opponents blur the line between impartial justice and partisan activism. When prosecutors appear to target individuals primarily because of ideology or political prominence, public confidence in the rule of law is weakened.

Her actions also point to questions about selective enforcement. If similar scrutiny is not applied evenly across parties, the justice system risks becoming a tool of political retribution rather than a neutral arbiter. This perception fuels distrust and deepens national r.

Public officials should exercise restraint, humility, and strict adherence to equal justice under the law. Ultimately, the concern is not about accountability, but about preserving fairness, neutrality, and the integrity of institutions meant to serve all citizens equally.
I don't pay attention when criminals target innocent people out of a desire for vengeance. And as a working taxpayer in NY State from my first HS job in 1966 until my move to another state in 1989, I resent billionaire deadbeats who cheat NY taxpayers.

Here's another one he was never charged with. He built Trump Tower in 1979 and applied for a 100% tax rebate for 40 years! claiming that it was in a distressed area. 5th Avenue and 65th St. directly across from Central Park is one of the most expensive and least distressed area in NYC. Of course it was denied. He sued NY, and eventually when it got to the NY Supreme Court they gave him the rebate. Can you even imagine what taxes would have been on Trump Tower from 1979-2019? That's one corrupt, bribed, or stupid Supreme Court judges let him get away with, but we should add it to the half a billion he was held responsible for.

Not much happening on that front. The only time a grand jury was convinced to indict James, the case failed. Since then, so far at least, no grand jury has been similarly convinced. Letitia James remains unindicted.

Got anything on the topic of the thread?
Seems it’s a dead topic, now that the original indictment was thrown out and an additional try at “something” returned a “no-true bill”…

U.S. Magistrate Judge William Porter explained in an order Monday that the grand jury presented the refused indictment, or “no true bill,” in open court, and that news outlets had reported the failed charges even before that. The Justice Department did not move to seal the documents until the following day, he said.

“Because the public already had access to the grand jury’s decision on the no bill before the grand jury returned it in open court, no basis exists to seal this information now,” Porter wrote.

The judge also rebuffed the government’s arguments that keeping the papers under seal would protect James from the expense of “standing trial where there was no probability of guilt.” He suggested the policy was “advanced” by the grand jury returning its no bill in open court.

“Ms. James had previously faced public felony charges that a court later dismissed,” the judge said. “The grand jury’s decision to make this no bill public serves the interest of transparency when an individual has already suffered the stigma of public criminal charges.”

Porter agreed to pause his order until Tuesday so prosecutors could appeal, but it does not appear that they did.”

Justice Department review found Trump ally Ed Martin improperly leaked grand jury material in probe of president’s foes

A Justice Department review found that Ed Martin improperly handled grand jury materials that were part of an investigation targeting Donald Trump’s political enemies, at least two sources familiar with the review told CNN. It was at least part of the reason Martin was pushed out of DOJ headquarters early this year.

The review, which was overseen by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s office, focused on whether grand jury material gathered in the department’s mortgage fraud inquiries into Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff and New York Attorney General Letitia James had been illegally shared with people not authorized to possess that information, multiple people briefed on the matter told CNN.

You mean this guy, strike that, this clown of an AG who thought he was so confident, he took pictures in front of Letitia James's residence was not only leaking; not only whiffed at three different indictment tries, but got removed from this DOJ position? Incompetence -R-Us
