  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And..." that is enough ". Clearly He was speaking about the sword of the Gospel. How do we confirm this? By Peters actions. He used one of the two swords that the Apostles bragged about and sliced the ear of a servant right off. And...this is what Jesus Christ of Nazareth said after He healed the servant:

"But Jesus said to him, 'Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?'"

Better to get on the right side of the Gospel truth. Being armed with deadly weapons or being armed with God's armor, His Gospel.

What about the really mean and nasty Jesus?

Jesus opens the seven seals in Revelation. Right there, about half the planet is wiped out.

Jesus is not messing around. For sure the West is toast. It's literally going insane.

That is the alternative view however, when we read on, as I have made kown, He clearly opposes the use of weapons.
