  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you think a guilty until proven innocent system could work better and make society safer?
Human justice and God’s justice operate on different levels:

  • Man’s justice deals with effects. God’s justice deals with causes.
  • Man sees the behavior. God sees the brokenness that produced it.
  • Man punishes the outcome. God heals the root.
  • Man tries to control the damage. God transforms the person.
  • Man’s justice ends in prisons, labels, and fear. God’s justice ends in restoration, wholeness, and peace.
Human justice usually reacts to the
effects of something that went wrong. God’s justice goes deeper and deals with the cause.

Human justice focuses on managing behavior. God’s justice focuses on restoring what was broken.

One punishes the outcome. The other heals the root.

When I look at Scripture, God’s justice consistently aims to set things right, not just to get even. It’s restorative, not reactive.

But all this time, the defendant had been put through both an emotional and financial wringer just to appear with a lawyer in court (easily $10,000) to see the case dismissed within 20 minutes.
So there is no "justice" for people who can not afford to hire an attorney. But God does not want to punish people. He wants to restore then to His plan and purpose. Justice is more about restitution.

A guilty until proven innocent justice system would ensure all criminals are convicted,
The people who want to commit crimes would just plan to avoid being accused in the first place. The prisons would be full of scapegoats, not criminals.

None of this is God's Justice. This just shows what a mess man makes out of the system. One of the biggest complaints in the prison system is the lack of Justice. God does not want to punish people. He wants to redeem and restore them. Of course, there is restitution for the victim. Still, the offender is entitled to Justice with God.
