Human justice and God’s justice operate on different levels:Do you think a guilty until proven innocent system could work better and make society safer?
- Man’s justice deals with effects. God’s justice deals with causes.
- Man sees the behavior. God sees the brokenness that produced it.
- Man punishes the outcome. God heals the root.
- Man tries to control the damage. God transforms the person.
- Man’s justice ends in prisons, labels, and fear. God’s justice ends in restoration, wholeness, and peace.
Human justice usually reacts to the effects of something that went wrong. God’s justice goes deeper and deals with the cause.
Human justice focuses on managing behavior. God’s justice focuses on restoring what was broken.
One punishes the outcome. The other heals the root.
When I look at Scripture, God’s justice consistently aims to set things right, not just to get even. It’s restorative, not reactive.
