FBI searches Georgia county election hub in connection with Trump's 2020 election loss

The FBI told NBC News that it was "conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity" at the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center, while the FBI's Atlanta field office confirmed the activity and said an "investigation into this matter is ongoing so there are no details that we can provide at the moment."

Speaking last week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, President Donald Trump repeated his false claim that the 2020 election was “rigged” and said that “people will soon be prosecuted for what they did.”

Two Georgia election workers who were smeared by Trump allies — Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss — were harassed and received a torrent of threats after they were falsely accused of participating in a voter fraud scheme. Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor who boosted Trump's false election claims, accused the duo of passing USB drives “like vials of heroin or cocaine," when in fact they were passing a ginger mint. The duo were awarded $148 million in damages after a 2023 trial, and Giuliani satisfied the judgment in 2025.

The odd thing is, is that even if President Trump had carried Georgia, he’d’ve still lost the election.

Fulton County used improper procedures in 2020 recount: investigation

Note that the investigation goes back to 2022.

Not quite the spin put on the FBI raid.

Still ongoing, with the last news I recall being serious irregularities. That's from a media that's usually sympathetic to the Democrats. Good luck finding it: Search results are top-heavy with the FBI raid.

It’s relevant because at best it looks like incompetence and at worse it looks like fraud. Or was years of FBI pole watchers in various places unnecessary?

The warrant says the material "constitutes evidence of the commission of a criminal offense" and had been "used as the means of committing a criminal offense." It was signed by Magistrate Judge Catherine Salinas.

Specifically, the warrant listed possible violations of two statutes -- one which requires election records to be retained for a certain amount of time, [it sounds like they're retaining them, at least until the FBI took them] and another which outlines criminal penalties for people, including election officials, who intimidate voters or to knowingly procure false votes or false voter registrations.

Democratic County Commissioner Mo Ivory said the boxes of ballots, which were previously archived and sealed, are stored on pallets -- and that the FBI was "removing the whole pallets."

"So how can we inventory what they're taking?" Ivory asked.

"These are the original voting records, original absentee ballots," Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington, a Democrat, told ABC News regarding the materials seized by the FBI. "Once that stuff leaves our custody, where is the chain of custody? How can we know if we're going to get everything back? How can we know if they might do something mischievous?"

When the FBI was raiding the Trump property - not allowing his attorney of other witnesses to be there, to the point of turning off all the cameras - they were honest and had integrity - now that they are investigating the Democrats - operating in the open - they are suspicious and untrustworthy.

The state election officials are required by law to keep track of these records with a rigid chain of custody. They are right to be concerned about being unable to perform their duty to the people of Georgia.

There is a larger issue of why this is necessary and whose tiny fingers ordered it into motion. If they're allegedly investigating voter registrations, why do they take ballots?

Why? Because they were not permitted to be there.
