Yes. Pray in Spirit and in truth. And remind everyone that we are supposed to be praying for our leaders. I am pretty sure that I read that somewhere.
What if Jesus said that about us? We are too bad, too lost, and beyond rehabilitation. He would have never gone to the cross for us. Jesus knew he was giving his life for a world lost in sin and he did it anyway. When the leaders are beyond rehabilitation, we can only pray for deliverance in the next election.
Trump got his second chance and the entire world has lost faith in our country. Domestically, a vast majority of Americans have seen the light. Even former true believers have voters' remorse.
That was 60 years ago. Throughout history, greed and boisterousness has taken down every power. They come, they go.. all for the same reason.and the entire world has lost faith in our country.
I’m not a supporter of anything that is going on in the country. Angry about a lot but I have learned what things are worth my energy and what things are not. I want to put this nicely. We all need to take a step back and rethink what we are doing. We can’t allow our displeasure with another person blind us to the power of prayer and the Word of God. As Christian’s we don’t get to choose who we will pray for and who we won’t pray for. It doesn’t work that way.We are in a democracy--fragile and under attack as it is.
I will prioritize my prayer for a new leader--and for damage control in the interim.
I'm thinking it's the opposite, Nations with a legacy Christian influence, like Sweden or Singapore, are the richest in the world, with the lowest crime rates and virtually no human rights abuses. On the other hand are perhaps countries like Somalia or Sudan. If you doubt me, emigrate to Mogadishu or Khartoum. The reason why the most Christian nations are one of the most corrupt in the world, have highest poverty rates, one of the highest crime rates and human rights abuses, right up there with Afghanistan,
So you are saying we should pray for peace, justice, compassion, fairness, etc. under the guise of praying for "our leaders," with the clear understanding that to accomplish those goals our entire national government--Executive, Legislative, and Supreme Court--needs an extreme makeover, or, more likely, a progressive takeover.I’m not a supporter of anything that is going on in the country. Don’t forget about your Christianity. Jesus taught about prayer and prayed himself. I believe that scripture teaches us that if we repent and turn from our evil ways, that God will hear us from Heaven and heal our land. Not necessarily personally repent and turn from our evil ways but as a nation do it.
I agree that we are to pray for our governments, for the reason given in the Bible:
1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
That we might live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness. That's the reason.

No, if you read my whole comment, what I was saying is that the only thing that will change things in this country is prayer. Not a progressive takeover or anything like that. Look at what is going on with ICE and the demonstrations. So you are saying we should pray for peace, justice, compassion, fairness, etc. under the guise of praying for "our leaders," with the clear understanding that to accomplish those goals our entire national government--Executive, Legislative, and Supreme Court--needs an extreme makeover, or, more likely, a progressive takeover.

I pray every day, "Lord, please do something before this administration destroys us. In Jesus' name, Amen." We should pray this together.![]()
The other half of us prayed that when Biden was in office and when Harris was running, but thank God He saw fit for her to lose or we'd be worse off. Not saying Trump is much better, but I'd rather have bad (trump) than worse (harris) as President.
That laugh. Ugh. I hear you. Yes, we are so much better off having people being gunned down in the street. Who could take it otherwise?![]()
