My sisters mental health issues seem to be getting worse and occurring with more frequency.

I've got no idea. I thought schizophreny was a kind of internal split personality disorder, not necessarily related to an external demoniac influence. Yet, i must say what you write :

Thank you for your displaying hope, and giving right direction

i'd like to try and give hope also, through a short overview of my personal experience of my own sinning :
When teen, i tried and make myself recognized by people of my age, through challenging grown-ups' morale authority, even through my sinning when i felt "the simple and pure" docility alone failed to make me reach my goal. It was immaturity, sinful immaturity.
I think in my 50s i'm still immaturily sinning, but my awareness of the whole thing, together with my new care of christian plan of God makes me gradually less doing so. This personal immature and sinning way i focused on my selfish being recognized was obviously in relation with the little concern i had to take care of others, on the sensitive reality level.
I wonder whether humans are not sometimes slaves of a similar selfish mind i was slave of, which make some zones of indifference appear, sorts of relationnal vaccum on the sensitive reality level
Many people, like Michie's sister might be have suffered from such a vaccum on sensitive reality level, and sought refuge on imaginative reality level.
Now, i wonder whether the devil and his creatures have not their powers there, so that they could have imprisonned her mind through psychological locking on the imaginative reality level. Such significance is this, i assume, of the word "possessed"
In order to let ourselves and she be freed from this slavery, we have the new commandment of the Savior, that's medicine to fill this vaccum of indifference with love.

I think you will find in the end that all sin is rooted in disordered self-love. This could also be phrased, "... is rooted in an idolatry of self." True and eternal love is inseparable from authentic adoration of (and in) the One Triune God.
The notion of maturity, and of sin being an immaturity, is I believe a true and helpful one. That thought leads, however, to the disturbing reality that human maturity is not necessarily achieved by everyone. Unless, of course, God wills it to be.

Hello fide
i intuitively incline to think the way you do, but i very often fall short of certitude. May be is this incertitude a mark of sinful immaturity as well (?)
