  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello fellow brothers and sisters!
I am a fresh, born-again believer who is looking to grow more in the Lord every single day. I have found this forum through some rabbit holes (I tend to fall into those) when researching online about ways to be a good Christian, things I should and shouldn't do, and when I began craving a deeper understanding of His Word and His purpose for my life.

To give a brief summary of my life (lol), I grew up without any religion in my home. We leaned Christian when it came to celebrating holidays (i.e., we celebrated Christmas and Easter without us kids really understanding the meaning) and we attended church seldomly for things like Christmas Eve service. I also started to attend Bible studies when I was a teenager because it was what all of my friends were doing, but not because I craved a deeper relationship with Christ.

From there my life kind of spiraled and I'm sure I'll go more into that in other forums. To make a long story short, I have struggled with many trials and have finally found peace in the Father. In 2024, I was at one of the lowest points in my life, and God intervened in such a supernatural way that I couldn't ignore Him anymore. He washed over my body and mind and soul in my dark bedroom showing me that I am truly loved and cared for by Him. I felt the force of the Living Water encounter my carnal being, and I have been running the race ever since!

I am so excited to meet all of you and to hear your stories. I crave fellowship and am encouraged by the community that has been created here. Thank you for reading and for having me! May the Lord's peace be with you all in each and every moment!

Learn the Liturgy of the Hours, which is morning and evening and before bed prayers. Many Catholics and many Anglicans do it. There are several on line services to help. You can really get quite a bit of Bible that way. Also something that St Ignatius of Loyola advocated for called the Examen. It's a very brief look at how the day went, what good and less than good happened, sort of a reckoning with God of how things went. It helps in making spiritual progress.

Hi misspertinent
English "pertinent" translates french "pertinent", that's synonymous with english "relevant".

i was thinking : "Miss pertinent", or conversely : "mis-pertinent"(understand : non-pertinent, or "ill-pertinent") so that you could have played on 2 opposite fronts o_O
