  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

David Easterman must make a choice, his job or his Lord.
There is nothing wrong with working in the law enforcement, see Luke 3:14. If you find that illegal immigrants should be left alone, then the law has to change to make immigration legal in all circumstances. As long as this didn't happen, a law enforcer has to enforce the law and arrest illegal immigrants.

Therefore, you are using your energy in the wrong place: Be militant for a change of the law, if you don't like the law, but leave the people working in the law enforcement alone! Or what, should you dictate law enforcement which laws they should enforce and which laws they shouldn't? Don't you think that your nation will sink in lawlessness and corruption when the current popular mood should dictate which laws should be enforced and which laws shouldn't?

Actually all the nations in the world have anti immigration laws. So what do you suggest? Abolish all these laws to make the world a gigantic nation where everyone could freely live everywhere? But haven't God determined “the boundaries of the dwellings” of the nations (Acts 17:26)? Then it is God's will that there are nations with boundaries, which also implies that these nations set boundaries to protect themselves, among others, against uncontrolled immigration. Or do you think it alright if your neighbor would go inside your house without you letting him in? I mean, he has no criminal conviction and he is behaving well, so he could stay to live at your home without your permission, right? Wait, he is now calling his cousin to tell him how great your house is, so that he would come as well to live here. I believe that you would not agree with this scenario, would you? But then why should people come in your nation without the permission of your nation and not be arrested and deported? Why this double standard?

Personally, I skip all of them, in every post as I just don't care what the Bible says
Then I am wondering what are you doing in a Christian forum where people do care about the Bible? I would say that you are not in your element here, just like a fish would not be in his element if it is in the dry ground instead of being in the water.

This continued rhetoric is misleading. The majority of immigrants being swept up are not criminals.

A couple of points to that:

1) That's only if you ignore the initial infraction of being in a country you're not authorized to be in

2) For many origin countries, we don't know that for a fact, because some countries don't have robust data-sharing systems that are easily accessible by US officials.

It's not like Canada, Australia, and EU Zone, where a quick tap of the passport would give our federal officers the same background information that an officer in their own country would be able to see.

That's how you end up with situations like this:

The only reason he was caught was because his "baby mama" ratted him out.

He didn't even have to change his name, he literally just produced a phony document with everything else being the real information, only the year of birth switched to make it look like he was 17 instead of his actual age, 24. And a local court wasn't able to vet it (obviously), hence the reason why he was attending high school for over year despite being in his 20's.

Unfortunately this is probably going to become common , Many people on CF have changed what I dream when I go to sleep, I dream of busting into a pro MAGA church and verbally abusing people and saying they are nothing like the heroic Christians that ended slavery , I am glad the dreams disturb me but that won't be so for others.
As it is an SBC church, they would be the same church as back then.

We are discussing American politics and current events. I am an American and I have an interest in current politics.

OK, but why not doing that in a secular forum? There must be plenty of secular forums where people discuss American politics and current events. What attracts you to a Christian forum?

Ezell said he had spoken with the missionary following the service. He reported “the kids in the worship service were terrified.”
SBC Executive Committee President Jeff Iorg condemned the protest, calling it “absolutely wrong on every level.”

This is a federal crime. These entitled people think they are above the law. Time for Trump to move in the 11th Airborne.
I wonder how he reconciles being a pastor serving his community and a member of ICE. They seem pretty incongruous to me, but we are in unprecedented times. Again.

If your church hasn't made security arrangements already, do it now. Not next week, not next month, not the next scheduled voters/congregational meeting, NOW. Don't fail your flock by leaving them undefended against the wolves and bears of this world. Lock your doors once the service starts. have security cameras installed. Bollards out front by the entrance so someone can't easily ram it with a vehicle. And then either hire a security team if needed, or recruit able-bodied trustworthy men within your congregation who either have guns and can conceal-carry, or who are willing to go through whatever hoops there are to get guns and conceal carry, and have them train. There are security firms out there you can hire to bring in and train the men of your congregation for security and protection and help you go over things. If you have a school on property or attached to the church, even MORE important to have that in place.

My church placed 1000+ pound planters at the entrance to halt or damage any car that tries to ram the entrance. The internal entrance to our school area from the church is currently being worked on to place a fence and security gate up in the in-between area where anyone could previously walk down between the church and the school and potentially just force the door of the fellowship hall open to get access. We have 6 members including myself who are armed, and have concealed carry permits and extensive training (myself and one other previously being officers of the law as well), and we schedule to ensure that at LEAST 2 of us (preferably 3+) are there every service. That might mean some inconvenience for vacations or holiday plans, but oh well. Once the service starts, the doors are locked and only opened to those recognized as members who might be running late. Security cameras all the way around the building.

Extra security for the main school entrance, with a vestibule that can only be opened by someone inside the school, if someone makes it through the first door, etc., and our Principal is armed and carries every day. We're as of our voter's meeting last week, looking into hiring a dedicated armed guard for schooldays as well, potentially hiring one of our young college men if they are interested in a steady job after getting training.

This sort of thing will become more and more common as the marxists gain more and more bravery and influence in our country. Be ready, and defend your flock.
What are you doing in your church that you need a swat team armed to the gills to monitor it…?

I know I am not who you were talking to, but surely everyone interested in American politics should spend some time on Christian forums to understand one of the dominant groups in American politics

I haven't looked around. I'm not on any of the "traditional social media". Most are frankly too big.
What attracts you to a Christian forum?
I tracked some fool's pseudoscience nonsense here and it seemed like a nice place.

I could ask a similar question. I've been Minneapolis and to Basel and I know they are in different countries.

OK, I guess trolling is the motive.

I was more interested in the other sections of the forum, but I am also concerned about the ramping lawlessness that is occurring overall in the Western world. And when such things happens in America, they also very soon happen in Europa.

Boy you read *that* poorly. (Or are you an "electric universe" fan? That is the insanely stupid bit of pseudoscience I followed here. It has nothing to do with religion.)

See how that works.

That's true, but if someone has a disgust of the Bible as he has, I was wondering why he imposes himself discussing in a Christian forum.

I am a human, not an electrical fan. An electrical fan can't type as I can ;-).

No I understood that you wanted to troll about what you called the pseudoscience, and for doing so, you where ready to be confronted to the Bible verses you didn't like to read. I don't know what are you calling pseudoscience, but this thread wasn't about any science but actuality.

Or at all.

I told you about the pseudoscience because you demanded I justify my presence on a Christian site. I found this site from a link from another discussion of the same inane silliness that is the "Electric Universe". (A laughably stupid notion that the stars and galaxies are powered by giant electrical currents.) I looked around and it seemed like a good place to discuss science and pseudoscience [in the correct sub-forum, not this one]. Eventually, I started participating in news and politics, with a focus on science related topics.

As for the verses, I don't find them interesting or enlightening and they almost never have any useful application to conversation.
