The Bible tells the story, but the Holy Spirit teaches us of God’s presence, power, justice, and love. One does not know God by reading the Bible unless God inspires the reading and testifies to it in our soul. I knew I was a sinner, because God’s judgment was manifested in my soul, and the Bible taught me what to do about it. The Bible is not the only way God communicates to us today, but the communication should not contradict the Bible. If you think the theory of the creation of the moon threatens the fact that God made it, then you have to sift through the science and see what contradicts truth. Is it the fact that the moon rocks are mostly basalt and so is the earth's crust? Does the fact that dinosaurs and some birds have similar hip bones bother you?

So "the heavens declare the glory of God" is no longer true?
God can't speak through his creation, through other people, Christian books and films or anything else?

Science works on theories and tries to prove them though observation. It is not divine revelation, but it can be true. The fact that antibiotics probably saved your life or will is from human study of the creation that is God’s handiwork.

If science worked on observation then science would agree with The Bible. That the sun, moon and stars have been placed in the sky to give light on the earth.

Take a look at the night sky. Hold a baby’s hand. Play with your dog. Look in a microscope. Contemplate the atom and it’s structure. View the sunrise. Know the love of family and friends. Consider the insect world. It goes on forever, because God is infinite.

No, the Bible tells US that God speaks through his creation.
Someone who doesn't have the Bible can still look at creation and learn that there is a Creator.

Besides which, God speaks to us through his Spirit and through communicating with him in prayer.
The Bible cannot tell us what job God wants us to have; the Spirit can.

I would say "mistaken" rather than lying. To those people who say that the moon was not created by God (whether they have any connection to NASA), that is what the believe about the moon's origin. Being mistaken isn't the same thing as telling lies. As to it being a weak stance, I disagree. I sometimes see naturalist David Attenborough on television saying things such as, "Notice how this animal evolved to be able to capture and eat insects." But that doesn't mean that everything he says is similarly mistaken. He might say that the same animal hibernates for three months every winter. That is something which can be observed. Similarly with NASA and the matter of the moon's origin and the moon landings. Nobody observed the origin of the moon. Plenty observed, and some even took part in, the moon landings.

Why would that not apply here, as The Bible plainly states God created the moon. Are they not exchanging the truth that God created the moon, for the worldly lie about how the moon came into existance

Space is anything outside of the gravity of earth so it includes “inner” and “outer” space. Nothing in scripture restricts the size of God’s creation.

The Christian worships the triune God not His creation. God chooses to reveal His attributes through His creation.

Saying the moon came into existence by some other way besides God creating it. Is lying about how the moon was created. The current scientist may not have came up with the original lie, but they continue to spread and teach this lie. Even adding to the lie.

No one in this thread is stating that God did not create the moon. There are people of different beliefs and religions working in all matter of industry including scientists. There are many scientists that are Christian and there are many astronauts that are Christian. In fact Apollo 15 commander David Scott left a Bible on the moon’s surface.
