  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How is it that spiral galaxies don't spiral?

But we are talking about the effects... measurable, observable and even predictable effects.
Can you actually "predict" or even place precisely where the solar system is in the galaxy from our perspective within? We cannot map the galaxy as we could places on earth. Our Voyager space crafts barely left the solar system... we are stuck in this place in the galactic forest with no way to accurately discern exactly where we are in it.

Okay. Define gravity. What is it?

Please don't bore us all with the effects of gravity.

What is gravity itself?
You will get lots of hateful push back for even considering such a thing... but that is typical for new evidence that latter becomes accepted as fact or workable theory.

Gravity is the push back of the essence of the cosmos against matter or energy that displaces it. This is what forces these displacing agents into ether a typical spherical shape or a flattened outward radiating disk. Depending on the size and density of the mass is what factors in the amount of cosmic resistance (gravity).

Though we cant get outside to take a picture of the Milky Way, we can use radio telescopes to observe methanol and CO gases surrounding newly forming stars to map the Milky Way from the inside out. Thats just been done, and heres our best estimate of what the Milky Way galaxy would look like from a distance.

Gravity is a pseudo-force generated by the curvature of spacetime.

Obviously we can't see all the details, because part of the galaxy is in the way of our view... but despite its size the galaxy isn't particularly dense and its made up of very bright objects.

We can see a whole lot and infer more... we also have the ability to compare it to other galaxies we can see beyond.

Again, you are only citing the effects of gravity.

All we can do is observe the variations in the light frequencies / waves that reach us of thousands and thousands of light years distances. Ignorant people take the data and make a theory as to what it means. When enough of them agree, they claim to have evidence. All it is actually is a concerted agreement not fact. And using this formula you presume to believe they have answered the question above.

Hmph... curious.

Guess work. Admit it. Guess work and concerted agreement.
Why yes, we agree to believe the Jolly Green Giant is at the center of the galaxy.

What do you do with that data? I suspect you don't do anything with it, hence it is you who are ignoring evidence.

I'm sorry but... what's the alternative then? Science can only make commentary on things that it knows about, and we only know what we know about the universe

The alternative is to accept young earth creationism nonsense.

No. But I don't dream up these wild fantasies that most atheist agnostic scientists imagine and purport them to be true... either.
Try just the facts, people. You know, the truth.

But that's the point. What it "knows about" is far less than what scientists think they know, speculate, imagine, fantasize about and then report these fairy tales as facts and science. ← Science fiction. Not science facts.

Just because you say so doesn't make it do. You are in no position to say what is fact or fiction, and are in no position for anyone to take your claims and opinions on the matter seriously at all.

Your entire commentary is clearly just arguments from incredulity and arrogance.
