  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Is there more Good or Evil in the World?

I’m still holding out hope for humanity but am seeing more evil than good in this world. It could be where I live, residing in Racine, Wisconsin the epicenter of where the world’s evil dwells. Maybe my view is a bit skewed based on my residence.

I understand people can be both good and bad and everyone is a sinner, yadda yadda, but the level of badness I’m referring to is not telling a little white lie and goes beyond that.

So do you think that there is more good than evil or vice versa? I would love your perspective.
As in the days of Noah my dear friend.. It is time for Christ to return and the world is just how He said it would be when He showed up to take one from the field, and leave the other.

Matthew 24:37
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

There is one reason and one reason alone God decided to destroy the Earth in the "days of Noah." That same situation is here now and is what Christ used as the indicator for what the end times would be known by and when He would return.

Genesis 6:13
And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

I would say that beyond a shadow of a doubt there is more evil right now than good and that is exactly why we are a light on a hill and one that is not to be hidden under a basket but intended to light up everything around us with the truth of Christ and God's love in sending Him. You aren't imagining things, no. The world is in trouble and needs a wake up call, and it is soon on the way.

I believe there is both good and evil in the world, that the world is a mix. The world is kind of like a grey area. You have to be discerning to tell good people from bad people. I have seen both good and evil people. The good people, for instance, have loved each other and given to the poor, like people working as volunteers in food banks. :)

The bad people, on the other and, are criminals who hate and murder people. :( I live in South Alabama (Mobile County to be exact), we actually have a presence down here of people involved in shady stuff like gangs and the gangster lifestyle. There are also some pimps down here, but they never see me. I avoid them. I am wondering if they are sex traffickers of some kind? They carry guns on them and fight with each other constantly. Over territory I presume? Why are people territorial? :( Why do people need a territory? Are they like animals? I'm a little bit wary of those kinds of people. I am not opposed to people using guns, but I am scared of them and don't use them myself. Never have.

When we were moving down here, my brother-in-law (who has lived here all his life) told us where all the good neighborhoods were so we could move to one of them. He told us which neighborhoods were bad, in effect, which neighborhoods had the highest crime rate. We didn't move to one of those for safety reasons of course. So yeah, I am living in a pretty safe neighborhood right now, thanks to his advice. :)Nothing bad ever happens where I am currently at. Its nice and peaceful here.

The police are VERY active down here. It tells me all kinds of bad things are going on in the nearby city adjacent to us that they have to attend to though despite us being in a safe location. :(

Because of the potential dangers down here, my brother-in-law has a Conceal Carry Permit and he carries a gun on him at all times in case if these shady people ever do attack one of us, he will be ready to defend us with his own gun. He is very protective of all of us. He used to be a legal gun dealer and he knows all about handling a gun and using it. He used to have his own gun range where he practiced shooting with other people.

One thing I like about living here though is Mardi Gras and the whole culture that goes along with it. That's very fun! The whole city has Mardi Gras every year. Its one big party. I think Mardi Gras is unique to our area of the south though. I don't think anyone else in the united states really celebrates it except the deep south where I am currently from.

I like the wording of the Weymouth New Testament:

Romans 8:19-22 WNT
19 For all creation, gazing eagerly as if with outstretched neck, is waiting and longing to see the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the Creation fell into subjection to failure and unreality (not of its own choice, but by the will of Him who so subjected it).
21 Yet there was always the hope that at last the Creation itself would also be set free from the thraldom of decay so as to enjoy the liberty that will attend the glory of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole of Creation is groaning together in the pains of childbirth until this hour.

The "Thraldom of decay."

Thraldom - "state or character of being a thrall,"
That is a slave. A slave to corruption. We will be set free from this lifelong slavery when we are released from this body.

Romans 8:23 GW
23 However, not only creation groans. We, who have the Spirit as the first of God's gifts, also groan inwardly. We groan as we eagerly wait for our adoption, the freeing of our bodies from sin.

I know I eagerly await that day when that daily struggle will be over!

Habakkuk 3:17
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

Despite the uncertainty, Habakuk was to put his trust in God, who always does what is right for His people. Continue to hope in God; He is still at work in this world, bringing about change. As with Habakkuk, sometimes the means through which God brings about His Just ways is not how we would expect.
