Conservative activist Riley Gaines said she had to wrap her newborn daughter in a bulletproof blanket because threats on her life have become so intense.
Gaines, an anti-trans activist, shared the bizarre detail on Fox News' Outnumbered on Wednesday as she and the hosts discussed the ongoing argument given to the US Supreme Court that could result in a ban on trans-identified males from competing in female sports.
Riley, who welcomed her three-month-old daughter Margot in September, brought up how her life has changed since having her and being in her high-profile role.
'I'll tell you, having a little human being, especially a little daughter who's here with me today... She goes everywhere with me. She's been to 16 states, she's met the president. She's gonna be super dangerous at two truths and a lie one day,' Gaines, 25, joked.
While the hosts laughed at her comment, Gaines quickly took a serious turn in the conversation.
'She was there with me on the Supreme Court steps. And honestly, just as you said, there's a level of emotion to it, especially when you have to consider the fact [that] you have a three-month-old baby that you have to wrap in a bulletproof blanket because of the threats that were present there yesterday,' Gaines said, appearing to get a little emotional.
Bulletproof blankets have grown popular over the years amid an increasing surge in gun violence. They typically range from $500 to $2,000.
