  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have a question... What do you guys think about the late Michael Heiser's work?

I've never heard of him. Who is he?
Per Wikipedia, he was an Old Testament scholar at the University of Pennsylvania and founder of non denominational Churches.

I never heard of him either.

I think he was very interesting, he had his own personal opinions on things but presented an academic view on the ancient near east and biblical literature from a Christian, albeit Protestant (not that it usually mattered for the material presented) perspective. Fr Stephen de Young, with his Whole Counsel of God and his Lord of Spirits podcasts, takes on much of the same material from an Orthodox perspective.

He was a biblical scholar who discussed the ancient near eastern context of the Bible. Especially when related to the "Divine Council". He defended the Monotheism in the Bible against critics (but showing scholarship). Sadly, he died of cancer at 2023. I remember reading a lot of his work.
