  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Re posting the question (for those who have seemed to have missed it)
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm curious to hear folks' skepticism that there will not be an election held this year. There is a lot of chaos being sown by, well, a chaos based administration.

One.

Attempting to cancel or postpone is a bridge too far...even for Trump.
He will do everything in his power to impact the election. 10+ on that count.

Great. So he's not pessimistic. And given how recent special elections have gone, we can understand why.
"If we do our job and take advantage of the opportunities, we will win". That's like saying "if Chris Christie diets and exercises enough, he will win the marathon".

What's not to know?
That's actually my point.
It's all hanging out there for everyone to see.
Well, if you read what voting democrats say by and large, then yes. But, as we know, Republiicans are not big fans of listening to Democrats. I mean, I agree with you because I am reading those things. YOU are reading what Republicans are pointing you to read..

Also, just so you're aware....
The Democrat gap is -23% approval
The Republican gap is 14% approval.

Is a 9 point spread on this really something to brag about?

It's about what America was left with in the aftermath and things that have happened since then to keep the 'the Democrat party is a disaster' impression going.
Lol. Now that is wishful thinking.

I always go to the horse's mouth to see what a party or group thinks or believes overall. < One of many examples of me saying how I operate.

That's according to what source? Show me where you got that from.

You assume too much.

Ok but you clearly are not.
Right my commenting on what the DNC Chair himself said is a clear example of that . Face it, you were wrong. You made an incorrect assumption.

This is about the upcoming election between Democrats and Republicans. So of course how American voters feel about the two parties means something. The unpopularity of the Democrat party is due to a mixed bag of things.
I can agree with that last statement. But, whatever problems we, as democrats, have with the party doesn't mean we'll start voting republican.

-- A2SG, that'd be just plain dumb....

Not everyone is completely committed to a particular party. There are many who vote one way or the other depending on the circumstances.

If every voter was consistent then all elections would pretty much turn out the same.

Lol.
My argument is that you aren't listening to Democrat voters.

Your counter is that you are listening to the DNC "chair himself".

PAy attention to the details of what folks write if you want to properly address their argument.

Your incorrect claim is that I never listen to what Democrats have to say. In other words you're into making things up and stating your imagination as fact. And you go for personal attacks instead of sticking to the topic, which derails threads. Can we get back on topic now?

VOTING democrats...the CITIZENRY. I'm sure you do listen to the leadership because they are feckless and bought by the same people who've bought Republicans.

That's why I'm explicitly referring to non government officials when I say you are misinformed.

If I want to know why a party is not successful, should I be listening to their supporters or to the leadership that is unliked? Just doesn't make sense.

You've got things swimming around inside your head that you're trying to apply to me. It's pretty disjointed and difficult to follow. Now unless you can prove who I do and don't listen to, then we're just discussing your imagination, which isn't the topic of this thread.

Again. I don't understand why you'd think that the DNC Chair's opinion as to why they aren't doing well would be, in any way, reflective of reality OR of what Democrats voters would say. He has a vested interest in distraction.

I've laid out our conversation again. HOpefuly it's clearer. I mean, it's none of the things you've said here; seems pretty easy to wrap my head around.

I odn't need to prove who you don't or do listen to. MY argument is that listening to DNC leadership will not properly inform you as to why the party is experiencing such disatisfaction. My argument says continues to say that Democrat voters are who you should be listening to. And my final point is that you don't seem to be listening to the voters because I am and they NEVER say the things you say.

That's by way of a soundbite with no context posted on X.
Yes, from his speech. I mean really, to make the claim given again this years elections is kind of like saying 12pm is still noon.
