CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am not and most Christians are not either. Nothing in my post had anything to do with Christianity hence your Strawman. Frankly we’ve talked about this before and I find it offensive that you bunch up a religion because of your hate of it. Your attacks are not welcomed.

It does. Maduro destroyed a country and is no different (actually worse) than Noriega back in 1989. Why are you supporting a dictator that has abused civil rights and destroyed the Venezuelan economy to line his pockets?

Frankly, everything this administration does reflects on Christianity in the US because it wouldn't be happening without the support of many conservative/MAGA Christians. As a Christian, I'm ashamed and frustrated that Christians can't seem to do better.

I am not defending this action. However, I will point out back in the 1960s the Kennedy administration likely wanted to do something similar with Fidel Castro. I also wonder if Putin will use this action to justify a "capture" of Zelensky" or if Xi Jinping will attempt to "capture" Lai Ching-te.

I don’t consider deposing of a dictator to be a mistake. I consider removing him to bring life back into a country that has been suffering for quite some time. All you have to do is look at the jubilant faces of the Venezuelans celebrating his demise.
There is a successful precedent with the prosecution of Noriega.
I don’t have to presume.

As a Christian you should also know that a good portion of Christians do not support Trump including me. Christianity did not cause Trump. The lack of a Democratic Party message, among other things, caused Trump.

Emanuel Noriega shows a precedent. There are already indictments against Maduro, at least one dating back to 2019. The only question is if the charges will stick in court.

Yes. And the former president of Honduras who was prosecuted in U.S. Courts.
Trump pardoned him.

Well, it comes up fairly frequently in these discussions about Venezuela. For instance, when so many of the Christians in this forum praised killing those two Venezuelan drug smugglers clinging to the wreckage of their boat as a righteous act. It's pretty clear that the moral compass of Trump-supporting Christians points only to themselves.
