CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If "if" and "buts" were candy and nuts we would all have a merry Christmas. We only know what we know. We know that it was weed that washed up. In the world of "how do we know" the Trump white house has never even made a proof filled case that fentanyl is being ran and it's headed to the US. Truth be told, this has not one thing to do with drugs as Trump's own Chief of Staff has indicated. As noted by the drug runners Trump has pardoned. They, the Trump admin, who lies like it's an involuntary muscle just claimed it. If you're going to kill people as a government, specially people of another nation, you better have solid proof to make to your own citizens if not the whole world. It's literally like Bush all over again with WMDs that Saddam did not have. But like Venezuela he did have something the US did have interest in.

I agree. But my point is that it does not matter. The money they collect from selling the drugs are used to fund more destruction.

Sure. I guess there is a chance that the money is being used to feed homeless children. But it is about the same possibility as the drugs were actually used to secure fishing gear.

Yes. The big picture is actually enforcement of laws. Much like how Trump essentially closed the border solely by enforcing the laws that are already on the books. There were already sanctions placed against Venezuela from previous administrations. By targeting oil tankers, all Trump is doing is enforcing what already has been established. The only reason liberals are suddenly against law enforcement is because Trump is enforcing the laws.

No, we do not. It could have been just marijuana. It could have been marijuana and cocaine - as is the practice in that area as noted in the article. We'll likely never know....
