  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Scripture teaches that people become children of God, they are not born that way. Sonship is granted through faith and repentance.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
— John 1:12

We are not kinsmen by birth and flesh, but through the Holy Spirit. Once we are born again Christ is our kinsman redeemer. The one not yet born again is a child of the devil (1 John 3:10).

For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh,
— Romans 9:3

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
— Romans 8:15-16

By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

False, the children of God are Children of God when born into this world, thats why Jesus came to rescue them Heb 2 14

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

I don't think Heb 2:14 has anything to do with inherant sonship, but much so to do with how Jesus accomplished redemtion, by becoming flesh and blood like us, so he could defeat the devil and deliver sinners.

The children in Heb 2:14 are the children of God in the flesh, Christ took on the same to save them
