God’s Plan for His Creation
The reality is that the Bible is the only reliable guide that we have, discount it and you are in the mire of guesswork and conjecture. The Bible gives us the right way to live and does have a lot of prophecy, some accurately fulfilled, most still future.
Nope. It's the other way around. MOST of the OT prophecies were fulfilled (in eschatological) tension in Jesus incarnation, death, and resurrection. The reign of God's kingdom started then (in eschatological tension). The future kingdom of God is currently being revealed through our declaration of the gospel and sacrificial love of neighbour.
The prophet Daniel 12:9-10, says that some will be kept secret and sealed till the end time,
Ah - so you're THE ONE!?
That's blasphemy!
You're so fixated on reading a CME over everything that you've undermined the gospel itself!
No mere human can unveil the scroll of the Last Days.
Why? Because it took Jesus death and resurrection to bring us into the Last Days!
The Last Days started with the gospel 2000 years ago! See Acts 2, Hebrews 1.
In case you missed it - it's just before your precious "CME" chapter of Revelation 6!See Revelation 5.
But no-one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4I wept and wept because no-one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.’
Oh but now you're the special one?
Right.
Anyway, then moving right along - John reminds us that Jesus salvation of us means he reigns from heaven through his kingdom on earth (the church) as he protects those in heaven (the martyred) and fulfils his plans in history (his mysterious judgements on the earth which cannot be predicted). They are released as the Lord sees fit, when he sees fit. We are seated with Christ in the heavens (Ephesians) but in this "now, but not yet fully" manner theologians call "eschatological tension."
It is Jesus who judges the world whenever there is war, or natural disasters and nature in chaos, or tyrants, or wealth and material success that seduces God's people.
but a few who seek the truth and study the Word will understand.
Yeah - you're one of the special 'few' alright.
2012, United Muslim Jihad, AOD this January.
Except it's not even about that.
The great mystery held secret for the ages was that Jesus would open the kingdom of God to the gentiles and nations. (See Paul's writings.) The great secret of the scroll is not a timetable, but a sacrificial death on our behalf that then enables these Last Days to start - and Jesus rule to include his judging of the world through disasters, war, tyrants, and chaos.
Also - where do you get the arrogance to claim Daniel applies to you when you're SO BAD at 'predicting' the timetable?
Your guesses so far have been so bad that if I were you, I'd be doing the dishes decades from now, and wince with embarrassment at the stuff I had blurted. The harsh sunlight of time evaporated away all your fevered imaginings like the morning mist.
Also, why should I listen to you? There are 666 other futurists pushing their wares here. It's a whole marketplace of timetables. Surely I should pick one that's maybe got a tiny bit of a
possibility of
potentially guessing
something about the future?
You don't. The bible's called it.
One strike and a false prophet is out.
Oh - but you're up to strike 4 and really truly want ANOTHER turn?
Have you recharged your "ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY" after last time yet?
I'm so glad all you futurists agree on what's happening. It's such a good witness to the universal truth of Jesus claims!
Isaiah prophesied about 75 generations ago; Isaiah 24:1 Be warned, the Lord is about to lay waste to the earth, to devastate it and scatter its inhabitants.
Yep - it's a bit of a gospel vision (in Jewish terms) of the gospel promise we hope in today.
But your mistake is not seeing the flow of the chapters, and how they relate to each other.
13 to 27 are local nations.
24-27 are like those 'compare and contrast' essays we had to do in high school.
It's Isaiah lifting up to ETERNAL matters for a moment, from all the local judgement.
No decent Amil theologian I read has said ALL OT prophecies are already fulfilled in the past.
There ARE eternal matters discussed by the prophets.
But it takes careful reading and discernment.
By now, perhaps 1 billion people will have read this prophesy and it never happened to them. Why should we think it could happen to this generation?
Because the Lord died in my place and rose again, and told me to stay ready.
But that's complicated as well.
Martin Luther was asked what would he do if he knew the world would end tomorrow?
He answered, "Plant an apple tree."
As creatures, we have responsibilities to each other and God's world.
We are not to despise this creation of his as we look forward to the new creation.
There are several possibilities that could bring about a worldwide disaster: a nuke war, a comet strike, earthquakes, volcanoes, a Coronal Mass Ejection, etc. Everyone can see that there will soon have to be some kind of severe shakeup to sort out the world’s problems.
Climate change.
Overpopulation.
Super-viruses manufactured in a lab for war.
Genetically selective super-viruses to take out a particular ethnic group.
Yellowstone.
A future predictive intelligence - though blind and unconscious and only mimicking sentience - gets out of the lab and spreads across the internet, shutting it down and destroying the modern world.
Cyberwarfare crippling the modern world - destroying manifests and production - and causing a mass dieoff as the cities starve. (Read John Birmingham's Zero Day Code series - just for fun. Take a break from this End Times stuff - it's not doing anyone any good!)
etc.
ALL are covered by John's symbolic sermon on suffering in Revelation.
ALL are covered by Paul's epistles as he describes human nature, and what the church could be in for.
In general terms.
Not in a timetable!
You have not explained why Isaiah talks about HIS generation so much, Israel's enemies of that time specifically being judged, and a return to the land under Cyrus.
But I guess - after 5 years of this I should not expect answers from you?
You just copy and paste your own assertions yet again, and never deal with the counterfactual to your arguments that - if it were me - would bother me - "like a splinter in my mind." (Morpheus from The Matrix.)
But hey - go at it anyway!
