  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Sabbath, Worship and the End Time

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:16-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

1. All power is given Jesus in heaven and earth.

  • Jesus is our Creator. See Colossians 1:16-20.
  • Before Abraham was, Jesus is I am. See Exodus 3:14, John 8:58.
  • Jesus' earthly ministry. See Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
2. Teaching them to observe all things that He commanded.
  • Jesus was at creation and sanctified the Sabbath.
  • Jesus was at Mt. Horeb/Sinai and gave the Sabbath commandment.
  • Jesus taught the Sabbath during His ministry.
  • Jesus prophesied Sabbath observance at the start of the tribulation period before His return.
The Everlasting Gospel

3. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.

The Bible repeats and enlarges:

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
  • The angel has the everlasting gospel to preach to every nation, kindred, tongue and people.
  • The angel says with a loudvoice (emphasis given; urgency).
    • Fear God and give glory to Him.
    • For the hour of His judgment is come.
    • Worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
The call to worship Him points back to creation.

What then can be found in the creation account that concerns worship?

Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

The account of the first Sabbath points to creation as the reason for the Sabbath institution. The Sabbath commandment also points back to creation and the institution of the Sabbath. See Exodus 20:11.

What makes the Sabbath worshipful? The fact that God blessed it and sanctified it, and commanded to remember to keep it holy. Worship then includes the Sabbath.

The Last Days

4. For the hour of his judgment is come.

There is an urgency to the first angel's call to worship, for the hour of His judgment is come.

The reason for the urgency is the issue of false worship in the last days, and the short time left before Jesus returns.

Revelation 13:15-17 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

What is the opposite of the mark of the beast?

5. The seal of God.

If false worship causes the receiving of the mark of the beast, what then is God's seal?

Exodus 31:13-16 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
  • The Sabbath is a sign. Sign is synonumous with mark.
  • The Sabbath is a perpetual covenant.
  • Throughout generations. See Matthew 24:20-22.
A seal is a mark of authority. What does a seal consist of?

A quick Google search:

Key Components of a Seal
  • Entity/Individual: The name of the person, corporation, or government body.
  • Title/Role: Their official designation (e.g., Engineer, Mayor, Public Weighmaster).
  • Jurisdiction/Domain: The state, country, or specific area of authority.
  • Official Emblem/Mark: A unique design, insignia, or text (like "L.S." for locus sigilli).
  • Date/License Number (often): For professionals, license details for verification.
Where in scripture can we find the seal of God? The Sabbath commandment.

Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the sabbath day [Official Emblem/Mark], to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath [Official Emblem/Mark] of the Lord thy God [Entity/Individual]: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord [Entity/Individual] made [Creator] heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is [Jurisdiction/Domain], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Conclusion

Emphasis is being given specifically to the Sabbath concerning worship.
  • Both the last call to worship and the Sabbath commandment point back to creation, to the institution of the Sabbath. See Revelation 14:6-7 and Exodus 20:8-11.
  • The account of the institution of the Sabbath points to creation itself as the reason it was sanctified. See Genesis 2:1-3.
  • The Sabbath being called a sign/mark. See Exodus 31:13.
  • The perpetuity of the Sabbath. See Exodus 31:16.
To those who say that the Sabbath is specifically for Israel.
  • We are Israel.
    • There is neither Jew nor Greek. See Galations 3:28, Colossians 3:11.
    • The grafting in. See Romans 11.
  • The seal of God concerns us all as does the mark of the beast. See Revelation 13:15-17.
  • The Sabbath concerns us all as it is observed in the new heaven and new earth, showing that it is indeed a perpetual covenant. See Isaiah 66:22-23.
  • The fact that Jesus stated that the Sabbath was made for man (again, pointing back to creation), and that because of this fact He is also Lord of the Sabbath. See Mark 2:27-28.
The last day events concern the Sabbath and worship.
  • The causing of all the earth to worship the beast and his image.
  • The receiving of the mark or the seal.
  • The last call to worship pointing to the Sabbath specifically.
  • The seal of God being the Sabbath.

So can you post a verse that shows people keeping the Sabbath before Moses? How about a verse that teaches that the Christian is required to keep the Jewish Sabbath? Try to get a bit creative and stay away from your c&p’s that have been debunked over and over again please.

They get very tied up on which day to go to church -when we can go to church any day of the week if we wanted to. Sabbath was made for man, not the other day around and it's about rest period. But they think it's a constant thing with Sat vs Sun worship. The thing is we don't have to observe a day period. We enter into Sabbatismos.

With the antichrist, it's about worship period and I'm sure it will be an everyday thing, including Saturday and Sunday. Once you worship him, whether you're in church or not on a certain day, that's it. This Sunday thing is ridiculous. People will be worshipping him period, thinking he is the true Messiah. And then after that, of course you are receiving the mark. That's why knowing the timing is the important thing. Not whether someone worships on Saturday or Sunday.

Totally agree. To make it worse they actually believed that those that rest on Sunday are actually sinning and are disobedient so if they don’t repent and do as they teach then they will perish with the rest of the unbelievers. If you think about that for a minute you would realize that they actually believe that only 1.3% of professed Christians will actually be saved so 98.7% of professed Christians are on the wide road to damnation while they are in the narrow road (2.3 billion Christians worldwide vs approx. 30 million sabbath keepers). So Jesus sacrifice is only effective for the sabbath keepers.

Secondly they give plenty of lip service to salvation by the grace of God through faith but then they add sabbath keeping to the salvation formula. Meaning that they teach a faith plus works salvation. So they are also quite deceptive in their teachings.

Exactly and it's very dangerous to take the place of God in the form of putting judgement on people. Which some continue to do so.

Thankfully God is the judge.

Exo 20:1 And God spoke all these words, saying:

2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of [a]bondage.
3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor [b]serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[c] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Exo 31:18 And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

Mark 7:7 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men

Luke 6:46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? 47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was [j]founded on the rock. 49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it [k]fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

Heb 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him

James 2: 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.

Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

Which proves absolutely nothing. The OT verses refer to Israel who was the audience and the NT verses refer to Jesus two love commandments which we try to keep with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You keep using these verses that even you, a sinner, would not be able to keep.

The Sabbath, Worship and the End Time

The Great Commission
Hi Freth, is the well-written consensus of why we should observe the Sabbath something you took the time to write or is it a copy and paste? If it is a copy and paste please give the author his due.

Just to set the record straight, what Jesus taught the Israelites during the time of the Old Covenant has nothing to do with what Jesus taught through the Apostles during the time of the New Covenant. When a covenant ends, so do the words of that covenant. In the case of the Sinai Covenant, the words were the Law, not just part of it; it was all of it. The New and better Covenant didn't start until Jesus' death on the Cross. During His life on Earth, He came to the Israelites and taught from the Torah. Torah ended at Calvary, so the Torah teachings had nothing to do with what the Apostles, under the New Covenant, taught to all mankind.

Concerning Matt 28: 16-20 there is absolutely no history indicating that any other nation was ever taught to observe the Sabbath. That in its self indicates that the Sabbath was not a part of the Gospel that was to be preached to all nations. There is no indication that the New Covenant writers ever taught Sabbath observance. If the Sabbath was so important that we would lose our eternal reward (as told in the writings of Ellen White) if we didn't observe it according to Is 58:13 wouldn't you think teaching it would be at the four front of what was Jesus would want taught? In stead, except for a very small group of people, the Sabbath was not taught until the 19th century. The remainder of Christians would have been oblivious for 19 centuries.
  • Jesus prophesied Sabbath observance at the start of the tribulation period before His return.
Please provide the scripture indicating that Jesus taught Sabbath observance at the beginning of tribulation.

Just what does all that have to do with our worshipping on one day. The creation account does not indicate God's rest on the first seventh-day included Adam and Eve nor does it indicate it became a perpetual seven-day requirement.
The account of the first Sabbath points to creation as the reason for the Sabbath institution. The Sabbath commandment also points back to creation and the institution of the Sabbath. See Exodus 20:11.
There are two accounts for the reason Israel was to observe the Sabbath. The Deut. account tells them to observe it to remind them of God's leading them out of bondage in Egypt. The remainder of the Earth's population was not captive in Egypt.
What makes the Sabbath worshipful? The fact that God blessed it and sanctified it, and commanded to remember to keep it holy. Worship then includes the Sabbath.
God only commanded the people who came out of Egypt to remember the day after creation. What about the remainder of the world's population?

What would make you believe that not worshipping on a certain day would cause one to have the mark of the beast? Is this Biblical or someone's unmerited conclusion?
What is the opposite of the mark of the beast?

5. The seal of God.
And You believe the seal is the Sabbath given only to Israel. I believe the seal of God is the Holy Spirit given to all mankind.

Just how can we be "Israel" if there is no longer Jew or Greek? How have you concluded that you are an Israelite? Why would anyone feel the need to be grafted into a tree that is dead? Jesus is the life-giver, and if you want to have life, He is the only tree to be grafted into.

They get very tied up on which day to go to church -when we can go to church any day of the week if we wanted to. Sabbath was made for man, not the other day around and it's about rest period.
Yet God said to Remember to keep the Sabbath day, to keep it holy Exo20:8. We rest from our works so we can keep His Sabbath day holy.

The Sabbath isn't about being lazy, its about spending sanctified time with God, focusing on God Isa58:13. No relationship can sustain without spending quality time together, including God. He knows we have to work and labor to survive, so He set aside one day in particular, the seventh day, blessed and sanctified the Sabbath for holy use. Gen2:3 Exo20:11. He doesn;t want us distracted or stressed, why the Sabbath is meant to be such a blessing we can set aside all of our worries and just focus on God. The Sabbath was made for man, because God made man first in His image Gen1:26, than the Sabbath Gen2:1-3 Exo20:11 not the other way around.

The 4th commandment is not just about keeping the Sabbath, God tells us how to keep all days Exo20:8-11 God knows what's best for us because He made us. God did not bless or sanctify any other day except the Sabbath. Why take what God made sacred and use as a common day and take what is a common day and make it a holy day when God did not. No man has the power to sanctify a day or sanctify us. God related that only to the seventh day Gen2:3 Eze20:12 we cannot do this ourselves Isa66:17 its why the Sabbath is attacked so much from so many different angles. Someone doesn't want us to keep the Sabbath holy and its not God- He wrote it He spoke it - no greater authority than God. Its why I believe He relates breaking the Sabbath to idol worship Eze20:16 placing something above what God said and replacing it with something different.

Eze 22:26 Her priests have [a]violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.

He knows we have to work and labor to survive, so He set aside one day in particular, the seventh day, blessed and sanctified the Sabbath for holy use. Gen2:3 Exo20:11. He doesn;t want us distracted or stressed when we spend time with Him, why the Sabbath is meant to be such a blessing.

All of your verses are from the Old Covenant and spoken to Israel and only the Jewish people. None of them were spoken to the Christian church or to the gentiles corporately. Are you Jewish? If not, was the law given to you? If yes, how and when?

Only if one is not part of mankind can disregard what Jesus said Mat2:27. I am part of mankind and I know I can't bless or sanctify myself, I need God. Eze20:12 Eze20:20 just like the Israelites who came before us, didn't think they needed His either and it left them outside the promise land Eze20:15-16. God said something similar at His Second Coming as well Isa66:17

If you do not need to do what God says is doing righteousness and justice Isa56:1-2 and what He said is made for us Mark2:27 or no need to live by, His every Word Mat 4:4 than, by all means do something different.

God does not change He tells us Himself, why all of the Bible is God's Word, not just the sections we like. Jesus never taught to live by only the NT and the NC still has God's laws, just written on the New Covenant believers heart. Heb8:10 Remembering to keep what our Father told us to.

Is actually Mark 2:27 since there is no verse 27 in Matthew 2. Because Jesus IS man. You keep misinterpreting this verse because you isolate it from verse 28.

“Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Notice the “so” in verse 28. What these two verses say is that the sabbath was made for mankind therefore Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Verses should not be interpreted in isolation.

Jesus did not make the Sabbath for Himself, the word He used in Greek means mankind, in Hebrew Adam.

ἄνθρωπος (ánthrōpos)
Means: “man,” “human being,” “mankind”
אָדָם (’ādām) = man, mankind, human being

Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath meaning it did not end. It is the holy day of the Lord Isa 58:13. Jesus never called Himself Lord of Sunday because that is not God's holy day Isa 58:13, but a day God made for work and labors Exo20:9

No point of being Lord of The Sabbath if it ended or the point of accepting Him as the Lord of the Sabbath if we won't accept who He said the Sabbath was made for or how He told us to keep it Exo20:8-11. This is in essence making oneself their own lord.

Nope. No where in scripture do we see Adam “resting” on the seventh day.
Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath meaning it did not end.
It did not end. He is now our sabbath rest as explained in Hebrews 4.
No point of being Lord of The Sabbath if it ended, because it did not, but kept by His faithful just as He commanded.
Strawman argument. See above.

I agree with the majority of this, but that is an interesting premise about the sabbath being a seal. While I can see your argument, I don't think it's a literal equation vs the mark of the beast. The reason I say that is due to Ezekiel 9:4

"Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it."

So I think the seal is a literal seal in both instances. God's seal vs Satan's seal.

The rest of it was great though, thanks for sharing!

The foreheads is where our decision-making takes place. The hand represents actions.

Deut 6:6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes

The mark of the beast is over worship.

God sealed the Ten Commandments with His signature in the Sabbath commandment.

Exo 20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

It has all the markings of a seal

His name- Lord thy God
His Territory - heaven and earth
His Title -Creator

It’s the only God we are to worship

Rev 14: 7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him (Name) who made (Title) heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” (Territory) which echoes the Sabbath Exo20:11

But someone else came along and made all nations (the majority) drink the wine of her fornication (false doctrine) who changed God’s times and laws Dan7:25

8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon[f] is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

This is antidote for receiving the mark found in the very next verse.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Which of course is God’s version of His commandments, His written and spoken Testimony Exo31:18

The mark is about our decision making who do we worship. We are told whoever we obey, is who we serve or worship Rom6:16 It’s really less about the day and more about the authority about who we are obeying. On God’s Authroity, do we worship Him which Jesus relates to keeping the commandments of God Mark7:7-13 Mat15:3-14 or do we replace His Authroity, with another voice as our authority over God’s who thought to change God’s times and laws Dan7:25

I would also recommend reading Ezekiel where God speaks of what is the greatest abomination and how it relates to this topic..

Like I said, I do see the argument, but I think it's going a bit too abstract. There's instances where seals are symbolic because it had a point to it, but then there's instances where it's literal. Not everything is abstract symbolism.

An example of this is the Holy Spirit:
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit," - Ephesians 1:13

That would be a symbolic reference since the Holy Spirit isn't a literal seal. The Holy Spirit acts like a seal (so symbolic). But the Mark of the Beast is Literal.

"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." - Revelation 13:16-17

You can't buy or sell with something that is symbolic. There's no proof at that point in order to buy/sell things. So to conflate the two just doesn't make sense. Also, the concept goes against the point of scripture literally identifying the Holy Spirit being/acting as a mark/seal. So you can't have two. Either it's the Holy Spirit or its obedience/sabbath.

Which proves absolutely nothing. The OT verses refer to Israel who was the audience and the NT verses refer to Jesus two love commandments which we try to keep with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You keep using these verses that even you, a sinner, would not be able to keep.
The 2 "love" commandments originally appear in the Torah...

Yes, this is the seal of God, its not going to be a seal/mark that anyone else can see, only God. I believe there are two parts to this seal, they are sealed by the Holy Spirit, but also have God's seal Exo20:11 Eze20:12 Eze20:20
But the Mark of the Beast is Literal.
Agreed. The mark of the beast is something only they can define and it has to be in contrary to God's seal. We can see this already from history.

This is what we know about the beast system, which means Kingdom or government. Dan7:23

It attempts to change God's times and Laws Dan7:25
He magnifies himself Dan8:11
Casts the truth the the ground Dan8:12 (God's Truth is Jesus, John 14:6, His word John17:17 His commandments Psa119:151)
The whole world wonders after or follows Rev13:3, which means the world looks to this power as religious authority
And exalts himself above God 2 Thessalonians 2:3–4

These are just a few of these identifying markers and the mark of the beast has to be contrary to God's seal. And again, only the beast system can reveal its mark and they already did so. They admit to it proudly.

It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.
—Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, NJ ‘News’ on March 18, 1903.

Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.

Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.
—Rev. Peter Geiermann C.SS.R., The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50
... you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.
—The Faith of Our Fathers, by James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore, 88th edition, page 89. Originally published in 1876, republished and Copyright 1980 by TAN Books and Publishers, Inc., pages 72-73.
As opposed to God's sanctification so contrary to God's authority
Eze 20:12 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

And this change is what they say their mark is

Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.
—C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, in answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath, November 11, 1895.

Over the power of God's authority Exo20:8-11

and God's mark/seal

Eze 20:20 hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’

How the mark will be enforced is through a national Sunday law which they are already talking about. Much like the decree that went out in Daniels time when a law by the government went out that was contrary to the law of God, why we see those stories in this prophetic book.

So the mark of the beast is one thing, how they enforce their mark through buying and selling is another. That we do not know yet, but right now our government is controlled by Catholicism. What used to be all protestants on the supreme court is now all Catholics. Our VP is Catholic, even the protestants in government want to mix church with State and tell us when and how we are to worship God. When it becomes forced worship, its not love, Jesus said If you love Me, keep My commandments, He never enforced it, but wants us to obey Him through our love of Him and free will to do so, if its forced its not love and not coming from God.

Of course. But in the Torah the law and the prophets did not hang on the two love commandments. The change happened after Christ died on the cross for our sins and nailed the law to the cross (Col. 2:14).
