CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I really didn't know if David would be just alright, decent, good, etc. I ended up loving it. It's the best theatrical release this year. Best Christian animated movie since Prince of Egypt. One of the best Christian movies ever made. Stunning animation, great music, sincere, and heartfelt. David is handled so well and I liked how it did more with his family.

I hope you do see it. I think you'd enjoy it. The movie captured the spirit of David to me. David who wrote the Psalms. David who was after God's heart and not his own glory. I also liked the way Saul was done. His pride is clear, but you feel for him.

I just finished watching The Bird Box. Okayish movie. It reminded me of The Happening, except it's better done, it's like what The Happening could've been if Mr. Shyamalan were a good director. It's not a movie I will remember, it's not that good.
Also, yesterday night I watched Sadako Dx–yet another movie in the Ringu franchise. The japanese Ringu 1998 is a classic, it's as perfect as a horror film gets, but the fact the sequels are so bad makes it look like a case of accidental genius. Now, this last installment, Sadako Dx it's a bad movie, and I mean a really bad movie; it's the kind of movie that you'd find on public television a saturday midday, and you watch because you cannot think of anything else to watch. It's a sad thing that one of the best example of how to make a horror movie is now producing bad sequels to do some cash grabbing while it can.
I will start watching The Maltese Falcon in a few minutes. I think I will watch noir for the following days.

Like most Stranger Things fans we binged Volume 2 and look forward to the finale. I discovered the show through a discussion on Project Montauk which was the underlying influence for the series and Stephen King's The Institute. If you want to explore that rabbit hole start with Stranger Things first then The Institute. The latter is a series now as well.
Cinema notwithstanding, the subject is troubling and indicative of the importance of prayer and the church. Both are based on real events which you're unlikely to hear in a sermon and I can't help wondering how evil goes this far with the numbers we're supposed to have in Christ but I digress.

I was watching a video on YouTube of someone just filming the stuff for sale & the shoppers in WalMart in 2004. It’s meant to be nostalgic but to me it looks the same today. Other then the aisles of CDs

I finally finished an episode of Black Mirror not too long ago. I clicked on the wrong season and watched Common People from season 7. The premise of the story is simple. Someone gets sick and is likely to die from an unexpected ailment. But a cure exists from a company who offers the procedure free of charge in exchange for their service and that's where things go downhill.
It turns out the service is a subscription they can't stop paying or the device will stop working and they'll die. Like modern times, they keep adding features and higher tiers and removing others until they've priced them out completely. It was really disturbing because of the parallels and it wouldn't surprise to see a similar practice adopted in healthcare. The rest are following suit.

We have a NBA G League team here. I was watching one of their games on ESPN+. Its good to support the local teams even tho they're not always the big leagues.

This was a post from a long time ago when Season 1 was out. I rewatched Season 1 this past week & liked it a lot better.
I am watching Season 2 for the first time & am liking it a lot. It's really good. The pace isn't quite as slow as Season 1 & it feels a lot more like SW while still being it's own thing. I can't wait to watch more.
