CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A 13 foot golden stature of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu mysteriously appeared overnight in Kings of Israel Square, in Tel Aviv, Israel!
The sculptor, Italy Zalait, christened the statute with the title "KING BIBI" - designed as a satirical replica of statutes erected by dictators around the world!
Ir was also a commentary on a Prime Minister (1996_1999) (2009-2021) (2022-present) who despite an alliance with Israel's ultra right-wing fringe parties received just 23.4% of the popular vote in 2022!
Should he leave the office of Prime Minister,, Netanyahu will find himself facing criminal charges of fraud, breech of trust and accepting bribes = they bring prison terms of 3 and 10 years respectively!
The statute was also erected to draw attention to Israel's "culture war" between the government and the nation's artistic community - reminiscent of totalitarian states, the Culture Minister has announced that she will block the funding for art and cultural institutions which do not publicly express their loyalty to the stat
The statute was subsequently toppled by angry spectators - similar to the public response after dictators, past and present, who have removed from power!
Its all just a matter of time that a narcissist with President Trump's ego will demand that statutes be erected to commemorate his "achievements - what are the odds that "KING DONALD" will meet with the same fate as "KING BIBI" and other authoritarian leaders!

Since Trump is the first significant president we've had since Lincoln, a Trump monument is definitely appropriate, and in order.

Let’s see. Washington led the continental army through the revolution and then the country as the first president and Lincoln presided over the civil war and emancipated the slaves.
What significant thing did Trump do that’s on par with those two accomplishments?

A monument will not be appropriate until after his death. Let’s give a few years or decade after that for the dust to settle and we can really evaluate how he should be remembered, but anything comparable to Washington, Jefferson, or Lincoln will never be appropriate.
