In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is there another '1st World' country, where our darkskin-Black friends get arrested for having mental health crises?

Sherrone Moore was in custody in the Washtenaw (Michigan) County Jail on Wednesday night as a suspect in an alleged assault, just hours after he was fired as Michigan's football coach for having what the school said was an "inappropriate relationship with a staff member."

Moore was initially detained by police in Saline, Michigan, on Wednesday and turned over to authorities in Pittsfield Township "for investigation into potential charges."

Pittsfield police released a statement Wednesday night saying they responded at 4:10 p.m. to the 3000 block of Ann Arbor Saline Road "for the purposes of investigating an alleged assault. ... A suspect in this case was taken into custody. This incident does not appear to be random in nature, and there appears to be no ongoing threat to the community.

So a woman calls 911 and says a man forced his way into her house, assaulted her and he is armed with a knife and they send mental health counselors to respond?
Where does this happen at?

I don't know if you realize it, but...
1) you have to GIVE VITAL DETAILS when calling 911
2) it's how they get cognizant of the type of situations they are walking into
3) she HAD TO INFORM 911 that it was her recent or current boyfriend doing this alleged invasion, and not a stranger
4) she HAD TO INFORM 911 that he grabbed kitchen utensils and threatened to kill himself plus
5) she HAD TO INFORM 911 that he's screaming about how his blood will be on her hands when he kills himself

Go read the law that was passed to allow mental health experts to respond instead of cops... what i listed are details that help determine if mental health experts should respond instead of overzealous cops.
