  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If this is how you read between the lines, you might want visit the optometrist. If I'd wanted to say that they don't deserve peace, I would have.

Actually, I'll put a finer point on it - I think they all deserve peace and to be spared from harassment. The Springfield Haitians, unfortunately, didn't get that. Not because of Charlie's views, but partly because of his actions. He made his wealth (and thus, Erika's, too) by peddling fear, lies, and outrage. As far as I'm aware, his widow has done nothing to disavow that part of his business - certainly nothing on the TPUSA website (that she now runs) gives that impression. But why would she? That's what paid for her mansion(s).

Again, I don't think she ought to be harassed like this, but if that's the life she chooses to lead...

It is her choice to carry on with the organization he built and presumably she shares his views. Also, she has put herself in the spotlight willingly since his death.
