CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your point has been made and I agree that they shouldn't be deployed there. Considering that, maybe it is time to stop deliberating on that aspect.

The president has just reported that the young lady has passed. This is so sad & I place much of the blame on our weak democratic party who just everyone to move here so that they can give away freebies in return for a vote. The blood is on their hands because they are not following federal. All nations must protect their borders.

Extremely unfortunate. Looking at both Trump's and Biden's involvement in all of this, I conclude that... I put the complete blame on the murderer, who should receive the full weight of the law.

It’s an aspect about this many want to overlook but yes, I agree it’s not the most central part of the story. I think it’s important to highlight. Another side is how determined he was to drive across the country to carry this out in the nation’s capital. Makes me think the blame lies a bit more on our foreign policy of the past 25 years than any specific action from any recent administration.

You're all over the place with this. First it's they don't know how to apply law enforcement which is incorrect. Then it's they just stand around which makes whether or not they know how to apply law enforcement moot. Then you go back to saying the city isn't safe, yet it doesn't need a deterrent put in place.
It seems clear it's is a matter of you not liking the NG being in DC, but can't come up with a cogent argument against it.
