This article characterizes a professional training course as an attempt towards radical political action, but that fundamentally misses the true, and far more compassionate, goal of the National Education Association's program. This is not an attempt to "transform" people, but a crucial effort to foster understanding, safety, and dignity for LGBTQ+ educators and students who are already members of our schools and communities.
The union is just providing guidance as inevitably there will be employees going through a transition. This training is necessary to dismantle the very "systems of oppression" that cause stress and discomfort—or what is clinically known as gender dysphoria.
As Christians we should exercise compassionate understanding towards those who are marginalized, misunderstood, or struggling with the immense complexities of identity and life.

It's weird that simple courtesy towards others is classified as far-left ideology.

Across history, individuals who are homosexual or transgender have existed, often encountering difficulties related to gender identity. In recent years, notably the past 15, a growing number of teenagers have been dealing with gender identity concerns. This increase raises questions: Is it because society has become more accepting, or are people now being encouraged to examine these feelings more openly and be what they feel they should be.

Gender identity is clinically diagnosed as gender dysphoria. When someone is diagnosed with clinical depression, we don't tell them to remain depressed simply because that's how they are; instead, we encourage them to seek treatment and strive for improvement. Similarly, when someone is clinically identified as suicidal, we don't advise them to just follow their heart and be happy while they're alive. Why, then, do we now encourage individuals diagnosed with gender dysphoria to change their gender if it brings them happiness?

I think many people in our society seem quick to join the "acceptance bandwagon" rather than encourage individuals to seek medical and psychological help for gender identity issues.

PROVE to me you understood this article.

I like the idea that empathy is bad (well, I think it's funny because the meaning has been twisted so that if you show kindness to sinners, you are bad).

Because I think for certain people, any time they have to consider anyone but themselves they are put upon.

The mere tolerance of their existance is ALMOST enough to break them. And heaven forbid we introduce their existance to children. A grade 3 kid reading a story about a girl with lesbian moms? A story about how a young black girl can't just go to any hair shop to get a hair cut?

Why should my summer child have to be confronted with such inappropriate book learnin!?

That's actually what we do for people with gender dysphoria too: SEEK TREATMENT.

Might I be so bold as to say your opinion is simplistic. "How come we do one treatment one way and then not the same way with another disease?"
For example; I got strep throat and they didn't give me cancer radiation treatments.


We do it "That way" because doctors job's are to treat illnesses and to keep people alive. Doctor's have discovered that treating gender disphoria gets the best results (least deaths, better mental health outcomes).

I think there's a segment of the population who feel that their opinions on other people's bodies are more informed than those bodies and the doctor's that treat those bodies.

That is not a hubris that is healthy for anyone.
