• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are you referring to the book of Genesis and John Chapter 1? I think I'm following ok.

I am not using any specific section of The Bible. But it is plainly seen that God is life, just like God is light. Do you believe light was created by God.

... so we look for evidence.

And you don't have any.

None.

All you have is ... life.

So you ASSUME it came from whatever -- (not whomever, whatever) -- and inject that assumption into the equation.

In short, you have zero evidence it was a natural process.

And the fact that you can't demonstrate that process is telling.

I know that you don't believe the science. But your understanding of it is so catastrophically woeful that I thought you might have decided to find out about it so that you wouldn't be arguing from a position of ignorance.

Silly Bradskii. You're not the slightest bit interested. Unsubscribing...

Wait!!!!

Don't go!!!!

What about the video in the OP, which shows how impossible it is for life to have arrived by random chance?

Fair enough.

But until science admits there's nothing they can investigate, we'll have these debates time and time again.

Are chemicals still self organizing?
Sure. It's an inherent property of matter. Though you're not likely to see new life organize itself again, since it's no longer a sterile environment. There are lots of predators now. Craig Venter is/was looking to see if it may have happened in ancient times, though.

Are chemicals still self organizing?
Everyday. Self-organizing systems are quite common. Crystallization is the most common form.

Modern life is self-replicating.

For 37 years???

If he had that attitude, then why was he a non-believer for 37 years?

Sounds astute.

Dear me.

You seem to have your mind set against someone, and your projector is running on high.

Do you apply those same standards of Internet comments to Google reviews?

Well you seemed to imply Mr Hovind chose his audience.

So he crossed his fingers and hoped only his followers would show up at the world's largest, fully accredited university specializing in aviation and aerospace; while everyone else stayed home?

It means he's not afraid to take on academia on its own turf.

Does that apply to all three of the speakers who were there to confront him?

Namely, Jim Strayer, Luther Reisbig, and Reinhold Schlieter?

Tax evader?

Do you apply your same standards to Antoine Lavoisier, Stewart David Nozette, John McAfee, and Yantai Gan?

I have no desire nor need to answer any of that when the facts are plain as day for anyone with eyes and the internet to read that Kent Hovind is a liar, a fraud, a conman and a tax evader which throws into question any integrity the man has.

If you already believe in God chances are you are going to believe he created life.

But you are asking what is "more believable". NOT...."what do you believe".

Honestly, if I were to take my faith in God and creation out of the picture and tried to be impartial in comparing the two:

random proteins combining over billions of years into more complex chemicals is pretty crazy.
some thing took a bunch of mud and made it into a person. Well, I'm not made of mud so.....

They both sound a bit out there. I can't say either one, by itself sounds more "believable".

You're displaying a form of prejudice called "character assassination."

From AI Overview:

The user is describing a form of prejudice or bias where a person's past actions are used to automatically invalidate their current statements, regardless of the present facts.

Hovind assassinated his own character by being a lying, fraudulent conman. He needs no help from me.

Again, it's all easy to find online, and the only reason you lap up anything he says is because you agree with him regardless of anyone actually telling you and showing you that what he's said is wrong, incorrect, inaccurate and untruthful.
