  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The auto-pen scandal is going to be massive

Considering how much is dad left him at the time, it's widely consider he did very mediocre.

I mean since he's been president he's been doing very well because his supporters are cool with him enriching him and his family while in office. Kind of deranged actually.

Blame the democrats for nominating such a terrible candidate. (Look who she lost to)
The talk about him inheriting all his wealth is just because he's disliked. He's actually done quite well, Whether you like him or not

Pray, where did his dad's wealth go?
He gave it to charity right?

No. He gave it to Donald. Over 400m.
We talk about it because it helps explain his ineptitude in business. You know how hard it is to bankrupt casinos? Multiple times? It's not something a competent businessman does.

He's actually done quite well, Whether you like him or not
Oh. Not arguing he's riich. His supporters let him enriching himself and his family through his office.

But his name ain't Hunter so you don't care.

Really, where was that charge among all the other things he was charged with?
Let me know when he’s charged with enriching himself through the office of the president
And turning $100 million into $7 billion ain’t bad at all

What he actually inherited was a lot more than he admits to. If we go with the more accurate figure and assume he put it into real estate in the late 7O's, short changed his contractors, overpriced his properties and indulged in dodgy tax avoidance then even then, after all that, his increase in wealth is no more than what would be expected.

And as a businessman? How is it humanly possible to have a casino go bust? Twice! And we won't mention the dozen or so other failed companies.

$400 million (in today's dollars) to $7 billion. So from about $100 million to $7 billion. You just hate the guy so much the fact that he was successful at anything turns your stomach

If you consider conning lots of people a success, I’m not sure what to tell you.

What hatred? Just stating the fact the guy’s been a fraud and con his whole life. Sorry if that bothers you.

The question right now is who signs the pardons. Last time I checked, the President does. So the next question is, why did the President sign a pardon for someone he knows nothing about, and claims to know nothing about the situation.

Who made him sign that pardon, or....or.....*dun dun dun* WHO SIGNED IT FOR HIM? SCANDALOUS! Must be those machines!

...his sons?

NORAH O'DONNELL: This is a question about pardons. The Trump family is now perhaps more associated with cryptocurrency than real estate. You and your son-- your sons, Don Jr. and Eric, have formed World Liberty Financial with the Witkoff family.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Right.

NORAH O'DONNELL: Helping to make your family millions of dollars. It's in that context that I do wanna ask you about crypto's richest man, a billionaire known as C.Z. He pled guilty in 2023 to violating anti-money laundering laws.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Right.

NORAH O'DONNELL: Looked at this, the government at the time said that C.Z. had caused "significant harm to U.S. national security", essentially by allowing terrorist groups like Hamas to move millions of dollars around. Why did you pardon him?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Okay, are you ready? I don't know who he is. I know he got a four-month sentence or something like that. And I heard it was a Biden witch hunt. And what I wanna do is see crypto, 'cause if we don't do it it's gonna go to China, it's gonna go to-- this is no different to me than AI.

My sons are involved in crypto much more than I-- me. I-- I know very little about it, other than one thing. It's a huge industry. And if we're not gonna be the head of it, China, Japan, or someplace else is. So I am behind it 100%. This man was, in my opinion, from what I was told, this is, you know, a four-month sentence.

But this man was treated really badly by the Biden administration. And he was given a jail term. He's highly respected. He's a very successful guy. They sent him to jail and they really set him up. That's my opinion. I was told about it.

I said, "Eh, it may look bad if I do it. I have to do the right thing." I don't know the man at all. I don't think I ever met him. Maybe I did. Or, you know, somebody shook my hand or something. But I don't think I ever met him. I have no idea who he is. I was told that he was a victim, just like I was and just like many other people, of a vicious, horrible group of people in the Biden administration.

NORAH O'DONNELL: The government had accused him of "significant harm to U.S. national security"--

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: That's the Biden government.

NORAH O'DONNELL: Okay. Allowing U.S. terrorist groups to, you know, essentially move millions of dollars around. He pled guilty to anti-money laundering laws. That was in 2023. Then in 2025 his crypto exchange, Binance, helped facilitate a $2 billion purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And then you pardoned C.Z. How do you address the appearance of pay for play?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Well, here's the thing, I know nothing about it because I'm too busy doing the other--

NORAH O'DONNELL: But he got a pardon--

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I can only tell you that--

NORAH O'DONNELL: He got a pardon--

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Norah, I can only tell you this. My sons are into it. I'm glad they are, because it's probably a great industry, crypto. I think it's good. You know, they're running a business, they're not in government. And they're good-- my one son is a number one bestseller now.

That's an increase in wealth of 17.5x. In the same amount of time my wealth has increased vastly more than that. And I started with zero.

That he might have done anything successful seems like the exception that proves the rule. He's useless.

My intense dislike for the man, for reasons too numerous to mention, have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with his obvious lack of talent in running companies. That just serves as an additional indication how incompetent he is.

If he was good at it then you'd get comments from me such as 'Well, at least he's good at something. He should stick to it. Because running a country is not it'.

As important as the millions were, he also benefited greatly through his dad's political connections.

That's an equivalent of $400 million in TODAY'S dollars.
He didn't receive but about a fourth of that.
So get your calculator out again
