These verses (plural). It wasn't written in isolation. It's part of a point God was making to Job. Otherwise God is talking about the morning exposing the wicked and suddenly detours for one verse about the shape of the earth before returning to the morning exposing the wicked again. Nope. That doesn't work. Study the Bible, not just cherry pick verses that you can strip away the context in order to make claims which make no sense to the context of the actual passage.

One knows by Bible study. By studying God's word, one can see what is intended by the poetry of symbolism. The symbolism of the seal in Job 38 is to liken the coming of morning on the earth to the featureless clay being contoured by the seal.

By study. As you study, you see the context of the passage. Anything in that passage that is used to illustrate a point is symbolism, just like the seal to the clay is symbolism for the morning coming on the earth.

Remember what we talked about the clay and the seal? This is obvious symbolic language. The earth is not made of clay and God did not stamp the earth with a seal. He did not clothed the earth in a garment. The clay symbolism is again seen in Romans 9 where God is symbolically a potter molding his clay to how He wishes.

No, Job says that the earth is like clay under a seal, not the seal itself. When we think of using a seal, we tend to think of something that makes an impression in wax, but it seems that back then they used clay. The verse does not tell us what shape the lump of clay was:

“It takes on form like clay under a seal, And stands out like a garment.” (Job 38:14 NKJV)

It couldn't be more clearer.

But the earth is not likened to a seal, but to the clay (like our sealing wax) under a seal. The verses tells us that the earth takes its shape (in the context, its contours, mountains and valleys etc.) as clay does when a seal is used on it. As someone pointed out, the context is the coming of dawn. As the light of dawn comes, the contours of the earth can be seen; they take on form. The verse is not saying that the earth is a flat disc, or that it becomes a flat disc with the coming of dawn. Verses must be taken in context.

It's important to remember that the word of God did not have chapters and verses to start with. Chapters were added in about 1227, and verses in the 1550s. They were added for convenience of finding our way around the bible. Verses do need to be taken in their context, and here, the context is the coming of the dawn.

Geometry and Angles of Observation -

1) Some angle of observation experiment results.

2) Simple Observation of a Light Source that is close to the clouds, NOT far away. The immutable laws of Triangulation help us here.

Geometry tells us that if the light source were far way at the dizzying distance that NASA claims, the light rays coming through relatively close-together holes in the cloud cover such as these would be near parallel , not fanning out at divergent angles like we see.

This is repeated very easily at home in the dark: Use a torchlight or candle held at different distances from small holes poked into a cardboard barrier. The light rays poking through the cardboard cloud barrier will spread out in inverse correlation to the distance of the light source to the barrier.

Atmospheric gases prove that a dome above the surface prevents air from escaping into a false region called outer space. Air pressure is the mass of oxygen and other gases divided by the volume.
