  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do the Ten Commandments still apply under the new covenant today?

Again, we that believe in the new covenant believe that Christ fulfilled the Sabbath rest by the words in Hebrew 4. So we don't see it as being rewritten but fulfilled. The weekly Sabbath is not mentioned at all in those verses but it talks about Sabbtismos remaining. They are entirely two different words. We are talking about rest period and we see those who believe do enter into HIS rest. Again, I realize you and others see it differently.

I'm talking about the "weekly" Sabbath. Again, Sabbath means rest and we today have that rest in Christ. The weekly Sabbath was just a shadow of what we have today. If it was so important as many make it out to be. It would have surely been in the letters we have today. Instead, we have teaching on the Sabbath, talking about a Sabbath's journey but there's nothing from the disciples teaching anyone to make sure and "observe" the Sabbath. Even to the Gentiles just joining the church.

I don't believe I have. We know the commandments that Christ gave us and many of us believe we are keeping the fourth commandment by entering into that rest that's described in Hebrews 4, making it part of the new covenant and fulfilling that law.

I stated that the weekly Sabbath -Sabbaton is not in the Hebrew 4 verses. But the weekly Sabbath (Sabbaton) is in this verse-

Colossians 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

This is Sabbaton here, which is the day of the weekly repose. So there's no mistake of his meaning in the next verse-

Colossians 2:17 "Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."

He's not talking about special feast days when he specifies the sabbath days. He makes sure to separates the holydays(feasts) from the sabbath (sabbaton) a days. And when you take it to the Greek he's stating very clearly that the sabbath (weekly day of repose) days were a shadow of things to come.

Paul makes sure to separate them so one can't lump them all into feast days or special Sabbath days. That's not what he stated.

I try and keep my beliefs strictly to the Word. I've been fed many false doctrines in my lifetime not to do so. With many churches today you are getting man's word, not God's unfortunately.
Thank you for your thoughts JulieB67, I was not tthinking that you was breaking any prophecy, I just wanted your take on it if overwriting what the Lord said with something different was doing so. You are of course more than entitled to your thoughts and beliefs. If that is a part of your faith or where you worship it is important to you.
It is shame we couldn't mutally agree that both could exist together and co-exist, I see what you mean about the rest, but I think that is for eternal life as well. I know people who are different branches of Christanity and I never question them and raise it, we just get along, but this is a discussion thread and well, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you, I see what you mean about how love is mentioned in these scriptures.
Yes love is the important part for everything, through love I would not mind who keeps sabbath, it would not stop me from loving them, because we were loved whatever we did, so we should share that love, and let love lead where it wanted to lead us to, even together, as we should be anyway.

My post was to point out that I believe it's Christ's rest that we enter into today and not just one day of the week.
We enter in by belief that God ceased from HIs works, and declared a holy day/sanctification/all was very good, Christ did the works of the Father then ceased from HIs works, sanctified Himself that we may also be sanctified by the truth.

Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Question for the day-
I read this yesterday about the argument that some people use that God is not in the church who are not Christians or Christians and there is no need to go church as it is empty of God and we can worship our Temples. This is St Paul telling to glorify our Temples of the Holy Spirit. Some of these people may not be baptised who say this, but I think we all need to take care of our spirit anyway whether you are baptised or not-but this is about the Holy Spirit.
This is what some people are saying-Do you feel God in your life and then someone went on the defensive lets say that God is it not in the church because we have our own Temples-. "I have been in many churches and to tell you the truth, I have learned the bible, but never really felt God's presence until I stopped searching in a church for him, it says in the bible that GOD is in NO man-made temple, don't you know YOU are the Temple. "

Now I read this-that people worshipping their own Temples at home may be doing something called-Gnosticism.

"The idea of having a divine spark or God inside you is Gnosticism. Having the Holy Spirit isn't the same thing at all, we aren't little gods. There's a fair bit of that around on the Internet, Gnosticism was one of the main heresies back in the days of the early church. Colossians, 1 Timothy and 1 John all warn about it".

This all this talk gnotocism has led me to the questions-
Can somebody help explain something-
God's spirit-
I love Psalm 104 "thy sendest forth thy spirit and they are created"
Number 11:17-"And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone."
Job 32:8-"But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding".
.................
The Holy Spirit dwells in us who are baptised with water and spirit-
(Roman 8:9), (I Corinthians 6:19-20) (Ephesians 4:30) (Ephesians 5:18). Paul in 1 Corinthians 6 tells us to glorify our Temples of the Holy Spirit in us.

I have always thought that all human beings when they are created God gives them all their own spirit and it contains a part of his spirit- (Pslam 4-God has severed what he wants for himself). Now to me everyone is his child and made by him, just that some didn't believe in him.

Now perhaps we are created by our parents and could have their DNA and say at baptism of the Holy Spirit he could send us his spirit.

Or it could be original man at that point his spirit was sent and at baptism we are born of spirit and water.

I wonder what some of you think about this and how it is done to you. Gnosticism has got me thinking about this about everyone in this world as I thought that everyone had God's spirit in us, and of course he created all of us-it needs understanding if we all have his spirit even if you do not believe in him say could be for generations long. I hope it is that we all as humans have his spirit.

I have found this which seems to answer my question that we all are as humans created with God’s spirit originally and then can get the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as Christians also become born of water and spirit at baptism.
  • Job 33:4 is a verse from the Bible that reads, "The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life"
Genesis 2:7 describes the creation of the first man by the Lord God, stating that He formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed the "breath of life" into his nostrils, which made him a "living being"

My rector said to me that Gospel Coliation are quite decent to read.

Found this on a Google search, I did think that people get the Holy Spirit when born of it with spirit and water-I was just wondering about the basic state at birth for all of humanity, just to double check, so it as I thought and well loved Pslam 104 still stands for all.
No, The Gospel Coalition teaches that
non-Christians are not born with the Holy Spirit, as they believe the Spirit is given to Christians through faith in Jesus Christ. While the group acknowledges that God's influence can be seen in all of creation, it states that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is a gift to believers that leads to spiritual new life and empowers them.
The process for Christians: The Gospel Coalition emphasizes that a person becomes a Christian when they repent and believe in Jesus, at which point they are "baptised with his Spirit".

Does 1 Timothy seem to speak of having a minor or different spirit, or it is anyone who seeks questions rather than godly edifying.

Titus 3 continues, to avoid that FOOLISH questioning, contentions and strivings, (ABOUT THE LAW) they are unprofitable ( NOT EDIFYING.) and VAIN. (FOOLISH.)

Colossians 2 IS THE SAME AGAIN, they try to spoil you through VAIN deceit, after the RUDIMENTS OF THE WORLD and not after Christ.

We are COMPLETE IN CHRIST, even the circumcision MADE WITHOUT HANDS, by the CIRCUMCISION OF CHRIST.

Christ blotted out the handwriting of ORDINANCES took them OUT OF THE WAY, nailing them to his cross.

HE TRIUMPHED OVER THEM, so we let NO MAN judge us in meat, or drink or in a holy day, new moon or SABBATH DAYS.

We are dead with Christ FROM THE RUDIMENTS OF THE WORLD, and are NOT SUBJECT TO ORDINANCES, of touch not, taste not, ALL ARE PERISHED AFTER THE COMMANDMENTS AND DOCTRINES OF MEN.

Now we try the spirits, as MANY FALAE PROPHETS ARE GONE UT NTO THE WORLD.

We are of God, he that knows God hears them, he that is not of God hears not them. Hereby we know the Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Colossians 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Lets see what spirit we can recognise in Moses, and others.

God aid He would take of the Spirit which is upon Moses, and put that upon the seventy elders, and when the Spirit rested on them they PROPHESIED.

Moses confirmed that by saying, it would be verry good that all the Lord's people were PROPHETS, and that the Lord would put HIS SPIRIT upon them.

The Lord also spoke to Aaron and Mirium who were prophets, how He speaks to them in a dream, but that Moses is not so, MOSES IS FAITHFUL IN ALL HIS HOUSE, the Lord speaks with him mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches, and he beholds the similitude of the Lord. ( but is not in the bosom of the Father.)

The Lords servant Caleb had ANOTHER SPIRIT, and had followed the Lord fully, him the Lord would bring into the land, and his seed would possess it.

The Lord said unto Moses, Take you Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is THE SPIRIT, and lay your hand upon him.

You shall put some of your honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.

He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the Lord: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in.

Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me.

Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the Lord.

Numbers 11:17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

Numbers 11:25 And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

Numbers 11:29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord's people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!

Numbers 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Numbers 14:24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Numbers 27:18 And the Lord said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;

Numbers 27:19 And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
20 And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
21 And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the Lord: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.

Numbers 32:11 Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:
12 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the Lord.

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Was Moses a PROPHET, with the Spirit of the Lord in him.

Joshua the son of Nun was FULL OF THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM, for Moses had laid his hands upon him, and the children of Israel listened to him as the Lord had commanded Moses.

The children of Israel rebelled and vexed HIS HOLY SPIRIT, then He remembered the days of old, Moses and His people, saying, where is He that brought the up out of the sea with the SHEPHERD of His flock, where is He that put HIs Holy Spirit within him. (WITHIN MOSES HIS SERVANT FAITHFUL IN ALL HIS HOUSE/SHEPHERD of HIs flock.) That led them BY THE RIGHT HAND OF MOSES, with His glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to MAKE HIMSELF AN EVERLASTING NAME.

Deuteronomy 18:15 The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

Deuteronomy 34:9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.

Isaiah 63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?
12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

For Moses TRULY SAID unto the fathers, a PROPHET shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brothers, like UNTO ME, HIM you shall hear in all things whatsoever He shall say unto you, and EVERY SOUL WHICH WILL NOT HEAR THAT PROPHET, shall be DESTROYED FROM THE AMONG THE PEOPLE.

YES AND ALL THE PROPHETS from Samuel and THOSE THAT FOLLOW AFTER, AS MANY AS HAVE SPOKEN, have LIKEWISE foretold of THESE DAYS, you are the CHILDREN OF THE PROPHETS, and of the COVENANT which God made with our fathers, (CHILDREN OF THE PROPHETS.) saying unto ABRAHAM, and in your SEED, shall all kindreds of the earth BE BLESSED. unto them FIRST, God having raised up HIs Son Jesus, sent Him to BLESS THEM, in turning away EVERY ONE OF THEM FRO THEIR INIQUITIES.

Forty years had expired since Moses fled from Egypt, and there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina, an angel of the Lord, Moses drew near and the voice of the Lord came to him, He is the God of his fathers, the God if Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,( the children of Israel are the CHILDREN OF THE PROPHETS.) then the Lord told Moses the place where he stands is HOLY GROUND.

This is the Moses who said unto the children of Israel a prophet shall the Lord their God raise up unto them of their brothers, like unto Moses, and they shall hear Him.

Moses was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spoke to him in mount Sina, and who spoke with their fathers who received the lively oracles to give unto them, and their fathers would not obey Moses, but thrust him from them, and in hart turned back to Egypt, and said to Aaron to make them gods, as for Moses, which brought them out of Egypt, they did not know what had become of him.

Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Acts 7:30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,
32 Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.
33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

Acts 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

Moses had laid his hands on Joshua at the commandment of the Lord, for Joshua to receive the Spirit of wisdom of the Lord.

The apostles prayed for the Samaritans that they might receive the Holy Ghost, He was fallen upon NONE OF THEM, only they were BAPTISED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS. Then they LAID THEIR HANDSS ON THEM, and they RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST.

The apostles TESTIFIED and PREACHED THE WORD OF THE LORD, returned to Jerusalem and PREACHED THE GOSPEL in many villages of the Samaritans.

We are built upon the FOUNDATION of the APOSTLES and the PROPHETS, Jesus Christ HIMSELF being THE CHIEF CORNER STONE.

Consider the APOSTLE and HIGH PRIEST of our profession, Christ Jesus.

Who was faithful to Him that appointed him, as also Moses was FAITHFUL IN ALL HIS HOUSE.

For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house hath more honour than the house.

Moses verily was faithful in all his house, AS A SERVANT, for a TESTIMONY OF THOSE THNGS WHCH WERE TO BE SPOKEN AFTER.

But Christ AS A SON OVR HIS OWN HOUSE; whose house are we, IF WE HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE and the REJOICING of the HOPE FIRM UNTO THE END. (NOT IF WE KEEP THE TEN COMMANDMENTS/THEY WERE NOT STEDFAST IN HIS COVENANT/NOT OF FAITH.)

Acts 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 8:25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Hebrews 3:2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Apostle Peter speaking freely unto us of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried.

Therefore being a PROPHET, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne

He SEEING THIS BEFORE SPOKE OF THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

We are NOT IN THE FLESH BUT IN THE SPIRIT, of so be that the Spirit of God DWELLS IN US. If ANY AN HAS NOT THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST HE IS NONE OF HIS.

If Christ is in us, our body is dead, (because of SIN) but the SPIRIT IS LIFE. ( because of RIGHTEOUSNESS)

If we live AFTER THE FKLESH WE SHALL DIE, but if THROUGH THE SPIRIT, we MORTIFY THE FLESH, we SHALL LIVE.

For AS MANY AS BE LED OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD, they are the sons of God.

We RECEIVED THE SPIRIT OF ADOPTION, whereby we CRY ABBA FATHER.

The SPIRIT ITSELF BEARS WITNESS, with our spirit, that we are the CHILDREN OF GOD, and IF CHILDREN, THEN HEIRS, heirs OF GOD, and JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST, IF WE SUFFER WITH HIM, that we MAY BE GLORIFIED TOGETHER.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

God has both RAISED UP THE LORD, and will ALSO RAISE US UP BY HIS OWN POWER, do we not know that our bodies are the MEMBERS OF CHRIST, we cant take the MEMBERS OF CHRIST and make them the MEMBERS OF A HARLOT.

Two are one flesh, but he that is JOINED UNTO THE LORD IS ONE SPIRIT.

SO IT IS WRITTEN, the first man Adam was MADE A LIVING SOUL, the LAST ADAM WAS MADE A QUICKENING SPIRIT. First there was what was NATURAL, and AFTERWARD THAT WHICH IS SPIRITUAL. The first man is OF THE EARTH, EARTHY, the SECOND MAN IS THE LORD FROM HEAVEN.

God, had spoken in time past unto the fathers BY THE PROPHETS.

In these last days He has spoken unto BY HIS SON,, whom He has APPOINTED HEIR OF ALL THINGS, by whom also He made the worlds.

Jesus Christ the Son of God who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, by Himself purged our sins, then sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. (SET DOWN/ENTERED INTO HIS GLORIUS ETERNAL REST/ WE LABOUR TO ENTER INTO BY FAITH..) THe Son of God being made ( to be) so much better than the angels, as He has BY INHERITANCE OBTAINED A MORE EXCELLENT NAME THAN THEM.

Of this SALVATION the PROPHETS have ENQUIRED and SEARCHED DILIGENTLY, who PROPHESIED of the GRACE THAT SHOULD COME NTO US, SEARCHIN what MANNER OF TIME the SPIRIT OF CHRIST WHICH WAS IN THEM did SIGNIFY, when it TESTIFIED BEFOREHAND the SUFFERINGS OF CHRIST, and the GLORY THAT SHOLD FOLLOW. ( Ought not Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into HIs glory/His rest shall be glorious.)

Seeing we LOOK FOR SUCH THINGS, be DILLIGENT that you may be FOUND OF HIN IN PEACE, WITHOUT SPOT AND BLAMELESS.

Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Luke 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

1 Corinthians 6:14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

1 Peter 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

2 Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
