Well there were some martyrs and quite a lot of pain caused in the process of our origins as the Anglican Tradition. However, here in the UK there were victims on both sides, and I am glad we have much less fear of each other now.I would note that there has been considerable anti-Catholic sentiment within the Anglican Church these last 500 years.
The Vatican has a fairly rigid dress code for women. Perhaps they were sent a memo suggesting how they ought to dress for the occasion. Is there a reason why the women are all in black? I am just curious about what that means.
Thank you, but I was just wondering why black in particlar. The King and Queen would certainly have had some advice about what to wear, so as not to be disrepectful. The Vatican has a fairly rigid dress code for women. Only 7 Catholic royal women can wear white when meeting The Pope. All other women, I think, wear a black mantilla. This included former First Lady Michelle Obama when she met Pope Benedict and Pope Francis.I have a dim memory that for women, wearing anything but black to meet the pope is a particular privilege. Something for royalty of Catholic countries?
