  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Leviticus 20, Charlie Kirk, and Homosexuality

I have been hearing repeatedly from numerous left wingers that Charlie Kirk advocated stoning gays to death, calling it "God's perfect law". Obviously this is referring to Leviticus 20:13, which tells the Israelites to put both men to death if they commit a homosexual act. Leviticus 20 also condemns incest, bestiality, and other sexual immoralities. This was part of the agreement for the Israelites to keep their new land God was giving them.
I have heard others say that particular verse was an "ancient mistranslation", as some people simply cannot accept the idea that God does not advocate for homosexuality. Anyway: We are not living under Levitical law, and I in no way believe for one moment that Charlie Kirk thought that we should be stoning gays to death in 2025 in the United States. But he believed in the Bible, and I don't doubt he called it "God's perfect law".
Of course these sentences sound harsh to modern ears, although I have no problem with them. God wanted His chosen people to be clean and free of immorality, and many Old Testament passages sound pretty rough - especially compared with the gospel, God's perfect solution to the problem of sin.
So this is what I want to ask you: Do you discount Leviticus 20? Do you think that God would never have said this? Do you think Leviticus 20:13 is the result of an "ancient mistranslation"? It seems pretty clear to me. As I've said, I have no problem with these verses, far be it from me to tell God how to conduct HIs business. The penalties are rough, true, but the wages of sin are death. You don't get much rougher than that. God has high standards, and only accepts perfection. Which is why we all need His son.
I'm just asking because it seems there are so many in the modern world who simply can't accept that there could be such violent consequences for breaking God's law. Or that certain things would even be in God's law.

Sadly some Left leaners lie about what Kirk said and take what he did say and twist it and use it out of context.
Context is important. I've yet to have a Left leaner share, in context, the claims they make he said this or that.
Also sadly, some Left leaners like to twist Scripture for their own purposes.
Just like with the rest of us, unless those from the lgbt community repent and turn to God, they will not inherit Heaven.

I could provide more Scriptures to show what some of these things mean, but it doesn't seem like you're that interested so I will just leave it as agree to disagree and wish you well. Thanks for the chat. :)
I know what they mean. Unless you are Jewish, you are not under the law. Christians follow Jesus Christ

Let me know if you want the Biblical definition.

Whatever you think under the law means, which I can show you if you want, Paul made it clear it doesn't mean sinning and breaking God's laws 1John3:4 James2:11-12

Rom 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

I am not saying sin is okay but Paul is talking to Jewish Christians in verse 15, who are under the Law. If you don't understand, look at the pronouns. He uses "us" or "we" when talking to the Jews and "the Gentiles" when talking about the Gentiles to Jews.

He starts talking to the Gentiles from Romans 11:13. He stops talking about the Law and addresses their place in Christ.

Sin applies to all people, not just Jews and its the same definition for all people 1John3:4 James2:11 Rom7:7 Mat5:19-30

While that is likely true, the reason LGBTQ issues get so much attention is because those who advocate such behavior want to deny that homosexuality is sin. Christians in the US are not advocating that homosexuals be stoned, killed, or otherwise punished. Christians simply want to follow their faith, and the Bible, which says that homosexuality is sin. But the activists do not want to hear that homosexuality is sin - they cannot stand it. And they call that hate, even if the Christian is willing to live and let live.

Fair points.
lgbtxyz issues get so much attention because they have made it that way. They have shoved their stuff into the public eye for at least 15+ yrs.
They wanted attention and now they have it. But they don't like any "negative" attention. They don't like the truths from the Bible to come their way.
They reject God and His ways and the principles in His word.
They deny what they do is wrong just like a person in adultery denies what they do is wrong. They give justifications for it and say I can't help myself. No, it's they don't want to help themselves to do better.
No person I know Christian or otherwise has ever supported anything like stoning or killing anyone from the lgbtxyz community. That's something a certain religion is known for doing, but not anyone in Christianity that I know of through the decades.
The principles in the Bible teach that sex done anyway other than how God intended is wrong and sin.
Of course they can live and do what they want as adults. But if there are things to vote on that honor God and not man, I'll vote for those.
The lgbtxyz community don't want to hear godly teaching on what they are involved in just like an adulterer doesn't. They may be in a religion that tells them what they want to hear, but those religions aren't Christian.
They are the ones who hate...they hate God, they hate His ways and they hate truth!!

Who said anything different? Whatever that is not of faith, is sin.
