  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

An ex-girlfriend of Rep. Corey Mills filed for a protection order, saying that he threatened her. He threatened to share nude photos and videos of her, and also to do violence to any future boyfriends. An order has been granted. Among other things, Mills is forbidden to go within 500 feet of the ex-girlfriend and also forbidden to mention her on social media.

Rep. Corey Mills is a Republican, is 45 years old, and is in his second term in the US House of Representatives. He is a member of the House Foreign Relations Committee and a member of the House Armed Services Committee.

Judge Fred Koberlein said that Mills offered “no credible rebuttal” and said that he did not find Mills testimony on nude videos to be truthful.

Over the last year, Rep. Mills has been accused of profiting from contracts with the Federal government.

Maybe, should he be forced out of Congress, he could get a job in the Executive Branch - sounds as if he'd fit right in....

Republicans stand for flabby values.

I would support ANY Congressman being forced out of office for impropriety of any kind, Financial, legal and immoral.

Only Congress has the ability to try and force a president out. Tgere isn't another way. Congress has the ability to force one of their own out. But as long as Congress doesn't do it to their own there is little hope they can do it to a president.

That didn't answer my question.

Yes I did. I dont care if you didnt like the answer.
No, what you answered did not address the actual question: do you think that only congressmen should be removed for impropriety of any kind, financial, legal or immoral but not presidents? Giving the main process of removing a president is not saying whether or not the president should be removed from office, therefore the question I asked is not the question you answered.

So, I'll ask again: do you think that only congressmen should be removed for impropriety of any kind, financial, legal or immoral but not presidents?

Im all for removing anyone from office who has done those things while in office. We already have methods of doing that. So, I dont know what you are about on this. You are asking questions regarding things we already have methods for and Congress FAILS to act quite often.

That's what I was asking - if you included presidents along with congressmen whom you specified. This at least hints at your answer without directly answering.

I'm surprised that you're having such difficulty understanding the simple question. Saying that we have methods to accomplish this is not saying whether or not you support the action.

Well, I guess you have your answer then. I'm consistent. I don't care who's in office or what elected official it is. If you violate those things in office you should be removed.

Agreed. I too want Trump removed from Office by Congress.
For what. He hasnt violated any laws. He hasnt violated any financial or immorality laws in office. You just want him removed because hes not doing things tge way you want him too.

Id worry more about your own country right now. Its falling apart.

Because there are any nazi tactics going on its in England right now from its government on its own citizens.

Why? What's happening on Friday?

He's talking about the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which allows the Vice-President and Cabinet to remove the President. This Amendment was adopted in the late 1960's. It might work if a President had a stroke and was unconscious and unable to perform his duties. It doesn't seem to be working in any other circumstance. Part of the problem is that the Cabinet in the US isn't really a functioning body that meets and makes decisions. They just take orders from above. Also, the process must be initiated by the Vice-President. In Trump's first term, VP Mike Pence ruled out using the 25th Amendment despite Trump's erratic and unpredicable behavior. Apparently party loyalty comes first, or a VP will not act against the President who selected him to be VP. The same goes for the Cabinet, they won't act against the person who appointed them.

I will answer that in another thread. To answer it here would change the direction of the thread too much.
