  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Says economic, crime woes linked to 'spiritual problem'

Like so many of us, Pastor Ché Ahn was waiting for a sign.

Before announcing his candidacy for governor of California in June, the 69-year-old pastor, author and global ministry leader experienced what he calls a divine calling.

“On April 28th at 2:22 in the morning, I woke up and I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit,” Ahn told The Christian Post on Wednesday. But when he realized he was being called to run for governor of California, Ahn recalled his initial response: “Please God, not that.”

Seeking confirmation, Ahn says he prayed for an invitation to the White House, which materialized days later: “I said, 'Lord, if this is of you, let me be invited by President Trump to the White House.'” When he returned from a prayer meeting, Ahn received a text saying he would be receiving an email from the White House.

“When I got the email, I said, 'OK, Lord, I’m in, I'll do it,’” he said.

Though I have heard fo this minister, I knew relatively nothing about him. So I looked at his books and a little of his beliefs. Can a Republican win a statewide election in California anymore? Yes, with God's help. I will say if he does win, what an accomplishment. I will say too that anyone who says God tells him to run and fails, I would be highly suspect of.

His most recent book (2019) is on apostles, with chapters that discuss "marketplace apostles," including a chapter titled: "Apostles have
money or access to wealth." He also is aligned with the "seven mountain mandate" which is also interesting, but questionable. Pastor Bill Johnson (Bethel Church, Redding, Ca) wrote the foreword in Che'Ann's the apostle book.

Wikipedia lists all potential candidates. None on the GOP side have legislative experience. The Riverside County Sheriff seems to be the only elected official. Steven Hilton has experience serving under the British Prime Minister and is a Fox news comentator.

The democrats bench is much stronger as democrats have more access to winning lesser state elections. Sen. Padilla is also listed as a possible candidate. 2026 California gubernatorial election - Wikipedia

Interesting, but he would not be the first Christian to run for office thinking God was in it yet failed to win an election. Can a Republican win in California anymore? Yes, with God's help. He is aligned with the "seven mountain mandate" which is also interesting, but suspect. God may not have you go on an endeavor to win though. There could be several reasons He asks someone to do something whether it be witness or something else.

Sure but when you share a belief about how the government should be more Christian and dominate society, you have to think he is running to win.

Here is Sean Feucht's thoughts on his Congressional race. He came in 3rd in the GOP primary.

"When I felt the leading of the Lord to run for US Congress in 2019 (right before the pandemic and the birth of LET US WORSHIP), one of the advisors God sent my way told me:

“It’s not just about winning an election — it’s about moving the needle. It’s about bringing the Kingdom into the US Capitol… inviting the Presence of God back to DC.”

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined capturing a live worship album inside the US Capitol five years later and releasing it to the world. It will forever be a soundtrack for people to pray over the nation and truly MOVE THE NEEDLE with their intercession."
