  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I would guess that, after months of being lauded and loved on the campaign trail, that shooting one’s mouth off is a hazard best avoided and that is rarely done. (Mitt had the “47%” leak and it was downhill from there.)
That, and the "binders full of women," the etch-a-sketch bit, and the whole story about his dog. Mitt had more than a few problems in that regard.

-- A2SG, I even met the man once, back when he was our governor...nice enough, but a very, very bland personality....

Stop.
You were referring to ther basket of deplorable commentary.
Okay...this time it was entirely my fault. I am having multiple conversations with multiple people on multiple threads regarding multiple topics and I got some of them mixed up. Please disregard my previous post. I thought I was posting in another thread. So I will be deleting it.

The trend of Dems softening to Republicans was happening well before Charlie. So there was a fundemental shift happening after years of the Dems being in power and enough time elapsing where people began to see some of the repercussion of their policies.

Trump and Kirk are just the natural result of how the political climate was changing. It goes in cycles and after a while people get sick of the same party stuffing things up lol. Then its time for a change.

Except nowadays changing government has become a serious matter for some. Like a matter of saving the nation and reality. In some ways this is the case. Two ideological worldviews conflicting. Politics has become more personal.

We are watching the DNC collapse before our very eyes. I am predicting that the next decade will be dominated by Republicans, to include 2 terms with J.D. Vance. After that, things will level out with an increased in Independent voters to include many liberal Republicans leaving the GOP. Eventually we will have a three party system with the GOP still on top, and Independents fighting with Democrats for second place. Regardless, the GOP will be in power for a very long time.

Your thoughts
It won't be voter registrations that keep the GOP in power. Most analysts think these National Guard activations are just trial balloons for the 2026 elections, when, with zero evidence, Trump will declare a natonal emergency on all the cities and have armed poll watchers terrorizing urban voters. The level of evil that escalates every day is horrifying, and so many people are just burying their heads in the sand to avoid seeing the US turn into a totalitarian dictatorship.

That is quite the imagination. Did these analysts think armored Jesus will be descending from heaven on a white horse as well?

Certainly not in support of Trump!
Their beliefs are quite realistic and logical. Look how far down the cliff democracy has fallen since January?

I think the analysts have no clue as to what they are doing. So what is your point?
