  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Another liberal judge injects her politics into law...

Trump doesn't define the law. But let's see how well he can crush all opposition.
In many practical terms he does.

Maybe he did? Either way, my point still stands...
No it doesn't, not even close.
Heck, you even admitted that you have no idea if they are a liberal in that very post. Maybe he did? So you have no idea.
It's quite obvious the only qualification for that is that they ruled against Trump. Actual positions, liberal or conservative, don't matter.

We should be more careful assigning labels to judges without at least looking at their record. This judge has had one notable case overturned on appeal. You will see she took the side of the policeman, and ruled against the protester that was blinded by rubber bullets. The appeals court did not. She likely would have been backed by the Supreme Court, but the case was settled fro a million dollars by the city of Salem.

Her background includes prosecuting narcotics and trafficking cases, serving to help Kenneth Starr in the case against President Clinton, she even questioned Monica Lewinsky personally. She seems to be a first class judge, the kind you would want on any case. After her background working for Starr, was disqualifying her from moving up, she registered as a GOP. She was appointed by Bush as a US attorney, then later by Trump for the U.S. Federal District court. Source: Karin Immergut - Wikipedia

"A jury in October 2022 unanimously found that a Salem police officer was liable for McCrae’s permanent vision loss when he fired rubber bullets while trying to disrupt a downtown demonstration. But U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut six months later dropped the lawsuit after ruling that the officer had no way of knowing he violated the protester’s rights when he shot her with rubber bullets, a legal principle known as qualified immunity.
Now, three judges in the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals have reversed Immergut’s ruling and restored the jury verdict."

But.. but.. but . she is not supporting President Trump today. She is a RINO!

No, SHE is...
I wonder what you might have said if we asked you when she was selected by Trump if you'd accept her rulings on any matter.

It is plainly obvious from your posts that the answer would be 'Only if the ruling supported Trump'. In which case any arguments you make on this matter are worthless.

How do you tell the difference between black clad atifas and black clad ICEs?
In person, you can tell by the smell. Antifa members have a distinctly putrid smell.

The President's memo of 9/25 defines any criticism of America, Capitalism or Christianity as evidence of terrorist affiliation
That's absolute, complete, utter nonsense. I've read the memo, it says no such thing and it says nothing that remotely resembles that.

That's absolute, complete, utter nonsense. I've read the memo, it says no such thing and it says nothing that remotely resembles that.
There are common recurrent motivations and indicia uniting this pattern of violent and terroristic activities under the umbrella of self-described “anti-fascism.” These movements portray foundational American principles (e.g., support for law enforcement and border control) as “fascist” to justify and encourage acts of violent revolution. This “anti-fascist” lie has become the organizing rallying cry used by domestic terrorists to wage a violent assault against democratic institutions, constitutional rights, and fundamental American liberties. Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.
If you say that "anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity" are common elements of groups that you're labelling as terrorists, and fail to define what those terms mean, then yes, I would say that this statement does, at minimum "remotely resemble" the claim that "any criticism of America, capitalism, or Christianity are evidence of terrorist affiliation."

I've certainly heard people call any criticism of America "anti-Americanism," criticism of capitalism "anti-capitalism," and criticism of Christianity "anti-Christianity".
