  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Fraud is just a subset of election wrongdoing, and actual fraud is hard to prove. Convictions for fraud, or convictions for cheating on income tax or convictions for improper collection of welfare or Medicaid or other government benefits may significantly lag the actual number of offenses. I've personally aware of and reported much government wrongdoing with virtually zero accountability. Even with that background I was shocked at level of election wrongdoing in Detroit.

You're saying we should prevent things we can't prove it happens.

Yea, that’s about right. Gop and MAGA wants to stop which doesn’t exist!

The ultra-low rate of “election fraud” convictions is (actually) evidence that the vast majority of election fraud isn’t being caught?

Tails, I lose?

It's not evidence. Do you think every instance of excessive use of force by a law enforcement officer results in a conviction? How about every theft? As President Carter pointed out, there are weaknesses in the election vote counting system.

I'm an independent, I'm pleased that there were over 100,000 observers in the last presidential election and that created a lot of confidence in the process. There is more to be done, voter ID needs to be strengthened and is still being resisted in a number of blue areas. Here's a commentary update from last month on the previous story:

"The Texas Supreme Court has given the go ahead to Ken Paxton to continue going after illegal vote harvesters across the state. It appears we have a significant problem here, and it behooves law enforcement to root out the corruption."
Yes, the constitutionality of the law is still pending. And again, most voter fraud is enacted by Republicans. BTW, there are always observers at elections. Having 100k more there based on Trump election lies only give confidence to people who fell for the lie.

It's a ruse to do what then can to make it harder for people to vote.
I can't number the times a GOP official actually let out the truth and noted the whole aim being to vote suppress.

Per the MAGA dictionary, voter fraud means "didn't vote for Trump."
