  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A fertility medicine doctor, Dr. Michelle Vu, also posted a video on TikTok of herself taking Tylenol, saying "my baby won't have autism," prompting criticism from some users on X. One user wrote: "This is a doctor, mind you! Are you kidding me? Why is she allowed to practice?! Disgusting."

Trump's statement has caused a major divide online, with some, including doctors, concerned about the impacts the announcement will have, while others have criticized the pregnant women.

As Tylenol helps to reduce fever in pregnancy, some have warned that advising women not to take the relief could result in "fetal neurological maldevelopment," as high fever during pregnancy has been linked to an increased risk of birth defects.

Although, as more and more videos appear to be circulating the internet, doctors have called for these women taking Tylenol just to "stick it to Trump" to stop.

Dr. Nicole Saphier, a Fox News contributor and radiologist, wrote in a post, which accumulated more than 1.5 million views, on X: "Don't weaponize your pregnancy for a political point."

I have mixed feelings about this one. I don't think Trump had any business making this announcement. More research needs to be done and he may be hurting a company's business without justification.
But the women downing Tylenol to spite him? Why take the risk?
Taking more than the recommended dose can cause liver damage, is this really the way to express your disagreement with the president?

Talking about hating Trump more than they love their children. Just imagine what suicide rates would be if Trump announced that jumping off a cliff is bad for your health.

People have been finding their identity in their hatred of Trump and politics ever since he started campaigning the first time. It is seriously a massive mental health issue everywhere. It really is sick.

Normal people continue to follow the advise of their personal physicians. Regardless of whatever goofy suspicions that are announced about an over the counter drug. Stable women that are carrying children don’t take even over the counter drugs and filming it out of spite. That’s really bizarre behavior.

I think he should make an announcement that you shouldn't drink urine then see how many videos are posted

I see the president is still working off of that medical degree he got during Covid. This is however an improvement over suggesting disinfectant could possibly cure a respiratory infection.

I'm not a doctor or disease specialist and I don't play one on TV.
I think during pregnancy one should err on the side of caution. During my pregnancies, in the early to late '90's, I didn't drink any alcohol or take anything period. I didn't drink anything containing caffeine. I wanted to be careful.
That said, I don't believe ( and again, I'm no expert)that Tylenol is THE cause of autism. Why? Well part of it is because I don't trust RFK Jr or Donald Trump on anything involving public health, that's why. I suspect there are multiple, even genetic causes for autism. And we are better at diagnosing today, then even 30 years ago.
If you are pregnant, and sick and running a fever, the best thing to do is to consult your doctor.
It's far more dangerous for an unborn baby to be subjected to a mother running a high fever than the occasional taking of Tylenol.
When I was pregnant with my youngest, I got a very bad cold either late 2nd or early third trimester. I called the doctor's office and they asked if I was running a fever. I said no. They said I could use Afrin nasal spray, and they did not recommend taking cold medicine, if I was not running a fever.
My concern is that mothers are going to feel guilty if they took Tylenol during their pregnancies which may have been necessary, if their child developed autism-when that may not even be the cause!. I'm sorry this has gotten so politicized, just like everything else these days.

One pregnant woman according to the article , made a video and said Musk and Zuckerberg are autistic and it's working out for them so she's taking Tylenol and hoping her baby is autistic.

And, of course, that got votes of approval.

I happened to see that press conference live. Trump said that he had asked Fauci about it, and that Fauci had said it wouldn't work. That's not what was repeated ad nauseum. Curious thing, that.

Of all the stupid things.

Autism is on a spectrum that ranges from mild to severe symptoms. I had two cousins who, had they screened for autism back then, likely would have been diagnosed has having more severe symptoms. It's like hoping someone would have schizophrenia because John Nash had it, or that they would have ALS because Benjamin Hawkins suffered from it.

Whether there is an increased risk of autism as the Harvard study seems to show, acetaminophen can do a number on your liver. There's a reason the dose interval was increased from four hours to six.

Your memory is a bit fuzzy. He was talking to Dr Birx about it and he most definitely suggested a treatment of UV light and disinfectant could possibly help with the infection. It’s been 5 years and without looking it up I can say for certain no one has used UV light and disinfectant to treat or cure COVID-19.

Here’s the clip.

Watching it again, it’s amazing anyone still takes this man at all seriously.

I have nerve pain originating in my back that causes severe pain in my left thigh. I have been out of work for a year and have to use a walker or crutches to get around. I've had prescription pain medicine but it does nothing for nerve pain and my new doctor won't prescribe it anyway.
I also need a knee replacement on the right side, prescription pain meds did help with that but now I take Tylenol sparingly

Yeah, he asked a question. He didn't recommend that people start injecting bleach
