I watched the video of Kirk's wife forgiving the shooter. It was obviously well-rehearsed down to each eye movement and facial expression. It reminded me of WWF. I expected to see politicians exploiting this event, but not his wife. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a book out by Christmas. Call me cynical.

While I think we can all acknowledge that being a media-lightning-rod has the very real possibility of death as a result of “correctly” pursuing such a career, when it happens the immediate family is going to probably be in a state of emotional shock and “not looking right”.

I'm curious about the backstage discussion that led to her wearing a more telegenic white outfit, as opposed to a more respectful black.

And these days, all it takes to have a real possibility of death is showing up at school.

Though when I had several friends and family die from Covid, the right told me it didn't matter, since they were all going to die anyway.
