  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Amazing interview with Israel and Maria Folau.

This brave couple at the top of World Sport, made a public stand stating Scriptures view on sin including homosexuality and the journey they faced as a result.

Standing on the bibles message bought a huge backlash and sparse support from the church.

It is very inspiring interview.

Well before i like to listen to or watch a video of someone i know nothing about. I like to find out about this person and i found out he is a nontrinitarian, so i do not need to be inspired from this person.

Israel Folau has not expressed beliefs concerning the Trinity; rather, his association with heterodox anti-Trinitarian ideas is a mischaracterization of his controversies, which were centered around his anti-LGBTQ+ social media posts and the subsequent termination of his employment. The academic paper discussing Folau mentions him as having articulated heterodox anti-Trinitarian ideas, but this is presented as a point of contrast to highlight the shifting stance of conservative Christian bodies, not as a belief held by Folau himself.

Of course - However it seems he went from LDS in his early years to the AOG which is strongly Trinitarian then formed a family Polynesian style church in which his father is the pastor.

So there is a bunch of second hand critique flying around which is normal fare for any tall poppy.

Watch the video and see if the fragrance of Jesus is there.

I see nothing that is not any different than many who are stressing a works based way to God.

Serious ???

How do you conclude that ?

Did you watch it ?
-
His emphasis is on turning from sin. If he mentioned believing in Jesus for God's free gift of Eternal Life, I did not hear it.

So you object to him quoting 1 Cor 6 ???

...do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Paul is addressing believers and not unbelievers. Paul is also not addressing entering into The Kingdom of God, he is addressing the believers inheritance in The Kingdom of God. Inheritance is about receiving rewards in The Kingdom of God.

So he condemns people to hell where the actual verse does not.

Wow... you are really on fire.... !!!

Again I ask - do you consider it inappropriate to quote these verses in the public space or not ???

No they should not be used, when a person does not understand or believes what the verses are addressing.

Really...

I have found that the public reading of scripture is a very good way of seeing seekers drawn to interest in the gospel.

The public reading of scripture featured strongly in Israels return to faithfulness.

Nehemiah 8:
1 And all the people gathered as one man at the square which was in front of the Water Gate, and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses which the Lord had given to Israel.

2 He read from it before the square which was in front of the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of men and women, those who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the book of the law.

So you are equating this person (a nontrinitarian) and his misunderstanding of scripture and what he is doing (a self ego trip). With what Ezra did in bringing Israel back and restored the worship in Jerusalem.

Why do you find this person as so inspiring
