  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You've been given straight answers, with explanation. They just weren't the answers you were trying to railroad me into giving.
Ok. If you think your answers so far adequately describes your position, I think I know you well enough for future reference.

In some situations, what appears to be a woman is not really woman biologically. I had a young patient that appeared to be female (no surgery involved). She was raised as a girl because that is what she looked like at birth. But problems developed, and the breasts did not develop, so DNA testing was done. She was a genetic male and at some point in utero, development of the sex organs for a male did not happen. So she looked female. She saw herself as female. It isn't always so simple a thing.

Jackson is a very intelligent person. Part of the right dismisses her as 'a DEI hire' which is a way to say that she only got where she was because she is black, but not so obviously racist though it is imo. (I am not saying anyone here is racist). Those who only see male/female without being aware of the many complications that occur in developing humans also think others are low intelligence. Jackson is likely higher in intelligence than many who try to insult her.
I know that she must be intelligent enough to be taken seriously. Not giving the popular and incomplete answer to a question, doesn't make anyone lacking brain processing power. It's just a tactic to try to paint her in a bad light, but it's mostly a reflection of those who use that tactic.

No, not any minority person. Just the ones who had the bar lowered for them because they weren't qualified, because TPTB decided there not be enough of a certain color employed in a certain area.
Good grief. SMH.
Actual Trump got his position by the vote of the people. Remember that "democracy" thing? Good thing it was saved in time for the 2024 election, eh?
On what planet does anything like privledge and "DEI" type things have anything to do with elections. I was clearly talking about his business and wealth.

Good bye.

Do you really think that DEI affects low-level customer service positions? Because Charlie Kirk did (or at least said he did).

Still, I'd rather have a pilot who has shown the most competency during their training, without regard to skin color. DEI slants that regard toward the skin color factor.
With or without DEI, the requirements for each pilot to be licensed are the exact same. You pass those, you're allowed to pilot commercially. DEI doesn't lower those standards for some. It's there to try and correct historically skewed hiring practises. And like others have pointed out, there's only one "most competent" pilot in each class, my father would be one example.

By the way, I'm still excitedly waiting for your opinion(s) on Kirk's Finland comments on how Finland is very Russian and should never have been allowed in NATO. I'm quite looking forward to those.

For others, there's actually a nice example that I came across related to the DEI hiring that came up at my employment during AI discussions and training data. Currently, use of AI isn't allowed in hiring at all and they talked about some of the reasons why. Besides the fact that this sort of thing always needs to be in human hands at the end of it, the training data for such an AI would be ultimately very skewed. If an AI model would be given all the hiring info on the people hired from the past 30 years for example, and told to look through it for resume information and characteristics of people hired and suggest based on that information which candidates to hire, it would be very skewed. Sounds good at first, the model should he able to pick out the type of people that had been accepted and look for similar people and backgrounds now. Which would mean that the hiring practise would be quite racist, since for a good portion of time, it skewed towards native born white men. It was just an example of how important training data for AI is and what you're trying to accomplish with it.
