  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade apologizes for remarks about killing mentally ill homeless people

I'm in contact with our local homeless 2 to 3 times a month at least through part of a ministry.

Many suffer from mental illness or addiction or a combination of the two. It is also true that many will refuse help will mental illness or addiction or only want the help on "their terms".

I do not know what the solution is. But, I know that the problem is too large for most local ministry groups to solve even on a small scale.

It's actually going to get worse. Because of budget cuts. If someone wants to kill them selves. There's not enough funds for emergency. And kids being abused , there case gets closed. Lack of funds.
Unfortunately, I think you’re right :(

Assume what? I mean, yes I dropped it in this thread because of the relevance to the topic.
The meme you posted with the reporter makes it the reporters fault. But the odds are that what the reporter said had nothing to do with the shooting. Now if someone goes and shoots the homeless just because they are homeless and are espousing thoughts that say we ought to just kill them or they just hate the homeless you might have a point. However as as I said there is a lot of shootings, stabbings and other violence among the homeless. Pretty much all of it committed by other homeless. Its been going on that way for many years.

Kilmead is an idiot and should be fired immediately. But indicating he might be responsible or partially for the shootings in your article because of what he said is completely ignorant. You can come back with the meme when it turns out the shooting was done by someone who believed the way he did.

The topic led “Fox & Friends” co-host Laurence Jones to say that billions of dollars have been spent on programs to care for the homeless and mentally ill but many of those afflicted resist help.

“A lot of them don’t want to take the programs,” Jones said. “A lot of them don’t want to get the help that is necessary. You can’t give them the choice. Either you take the resources that we’re going to give you, or you decide that you’ve got to be locked up in jail.”
With Trump's new beautiful bill, These programs will start to go away. I've all ready noticed things going away. How many detention centers in other countries, that we are spending millions. Yes out of sight out of mind.

We should have known this was going to happen. And Trump didn't even try to hide. The sad thing is the right wing News channels was cutting a lot of new out. Now we will pay a huge price for it.

Not something to joke about. Boot him.

BRIAN KILMEADE (HOST): They're blaming Trump, screaming free speech is under attack and even wearing Kimmel hats in support.
...
What these Democrats should be doing is looking at how Kimmel's own actions got him into I guess the problems he's having right now.

The FCC Chair hasn't complained.
It's not about the FCC. . .its about staying in business. . .about getting rid of content that will drive your viewers (and, therefore, advertising dollars) away.
