You must first define how you are using the word salvation.

But as for seeing the kingdom of God the verse plainly states that a person must be born again. So why do you not believe what the verse states and have to ask questions about it.

And one I do believe what John 3:3 is real BUT its context speaks to Israel and Jesus is speaking to Nicodemus and

Not to Gentiles .

And I n verse 5 , Except a man. be BORN OF WATER. (. how does that happen ). it happens in Eze 36:25. to Israel ,

and of the Spirit , when does that happen and HOW. did it happen in Acts 2:38 he cannot enter the KINGDOM. OF God

so do you want to be in a Kingdom or do you want to PLACED into the Body of Christ as written. in. 1 Cor 12:13-17 as

you part of the Body of Christ and learn how to rightly DIVIDE the word of TRUTH , 2 Tim 2:15 . And Israel refused the

Holy Spirit and. Israel was set aside in. Acts 28:25-28 !!

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

That is pretty plain if you read it.

Yes Jesus is talking about Gospel salvation as we also see in Heb 4 "The Gospel was preached to us JUST AS IT WAS to THEM Also" speaking of both NT and OT saints.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

It is the gospel.

To enter the Body of. Christ , is ONLY by Rom 10:9 and 10 , and your word GOSPEL / EUANGELION. , just means ,GOOD. NEWS

And your verse is speaking to Israel and not to Gentiles , Gal 2:38 , ACTS 28: 25 - 28!!

And why not explain John 3: 5 , just asking. !!

Believing in Jesus brings eternal life, and it is for the world, not just Israel. John included it in his gospel with a view larger than just Israel.

When Nicodemus asked how could this be, Jesus kept talking. He did give further explanation.

Many scholars debate that the water baptism in verse 5 equals being born of a woman and born of the spirit is the baptism from above. He equates the two in the next verse. So I believe he is equating being born again as the spirit baptism (regeneration).

The real question is that, at the time of Jesus 1st coming, how did Israel perceived the meaning of the term "kingdom of God"?

A good explanation is found in Zechariah 8.
