• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am Pastor Waris from Pakistan. I usually do not write such posts here, but today I feel it is my duty to share the real and urgent situation of my community.

Pakistan is facing severe floods again. These floods have destroyed houses, villages, and basic infrastructure. Families have lost their homes, cattle, and livelihoods. Many Christians, already living in poverty, slum areas, and under daily discrimination, are now left homeless and without food, clean water, or clothing. Winter season is only weeks away, and the situation is alarming. Children, women, and elderly people are suffering the most. Issues of child protection, abuse of young Christian girls, and health crises are increasing day by day in the flood-hit areas.

Our Christian community in Pakistan already faces many challenges: poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, lack of clean water, and persecution through blasphemy accusations and discrimination in daily life. Now this natural disaster has added to their suffering. The slum areas where many Christians live have been badly damaged, and they are crying out for emergency shelter, food, medical care, and clothes.

I am not writing this for myself but for the sake of the marginalized Christian community in Pakistan. As a pastor, I believe it is my duty to report and make you aware of what is happening here. This is an emergency situation. I humbly request all forum members and the respected administrative team to please keep our Christian community and others affected in your prayers. If God puts it in your heart to support in any way, please consider doing so for the sake of humanity and our unity in Christ.

The Bible teaches us that we are one in the blood of Jesus Christ. When one part of the body suffers, we all suffer. Today, our community is in deep pain. Please feel that pain with us, stand with us, and pray for us.

In Christ,
Pastor Waris
