  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump official who shut down counter-Russia agency has links to Kremlin
Darren Beattie, who alarmed the State Department with his pro-Moscow views, is married to a woman whose uncle has ties to Vladimir Putin

Unpaywalled regurgitation version

Yulia Kirillova grew up in Moscow, studied abroad in North America, and married Beattie in 2021 in Florida. She moved to D.C. in January. Her uncle Sergei Cherniko is a drinks magnate who had an estimated net worth of $150 million in 2005. That year, he served in Russia’s ministry of natural resources and was then deputy governor of Siberia’s Nenets region. Cherniko later served in Putin’s civic chamber from 2008 to 2010.

State Department to dismiss human rights criticism of Israel, Russia, El Salvador – report

The 2025 report struck out all references to crimes against members of the LGBTQ+ community, including noted government abuses.

The report cited leaked drafts of the State Department’s annual human rights report, which are allegedly significantly shorter than those prepared by the Biden administration.

For example, the 2025 draft for Israel is 25 pages long, as compared to 2024’s report, which was 100 pages.

Keifer Buckingham, a State Department employee who had worked on these [LGBTQ+] issues until January, said that edits like these were a “glaring omission” in Russia’s case.

Moscow’s Supreme Court banned LGBTQ+ organizations and labelled them “extremist” in recent pieces of legislation.

The reports are mandated to be sent to Congress by the end of February. Current and former Officials told the Washington Post that most of the reports were completed by the time the Biden administration transitioned out in January.

[But now they've been held up 6 months to be retooled.]

Why should our leaders waste time and resources on what other countries do, especially since The Boss has such a good understanding of those countries’ Leaders, being that he counts many of them as “friends”?

Trump’s 50-Day Ultimatum to Russia Just Expired — And Putin is Laughing

Fifty days ago, President Donald Trump drew a red line: Vladimir Putin had 50 days to end the war in Ukraine or face devastating “100 percent” secondary tariffs. That deadline just expired. And so far? Nothing. No ceasefire. No peace deal. Not even a slowdown in the Kremlin’s assault.

Back on July 14, Trump stood next to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House and delivered what was supposed to be his toughest warning yet to the Russian leader: end the war in 50 days or face “100 percent” secondary tariffs. The goal was clear — squeeze Russia economically until Putin came to the table.

The U.S. Starts Buying Eggs From Russia

And Treasury issues a waiver for some Russian diamonds

I was reading Russian media and stumbled on an article in RIA Novosti bragging that the United States had just imported eggs from Russia for the first time in over thirty years. My initial reaction was that it had to be propaganda — Moscow loves to capitalize on any opportunity that appears to be a crack in Western sanctions. But when I looked into it, it turned out to be true.

USDA’s report now lists Russia among the countries shipping shell eggs to the U.S. as of July, alongside Germany and Saudi Arabia, with shipments worth a few hundred thousand dollars. That might not sound like much, but in Moscow, it is another propaganda win handed to them by Trump,

Another interesting tidbit. I mean, obviously there's a reason with the avian flu, but the US has completely switched from a net exporter to a net importer of eggs, and imports are at at least a 2 year high. Data nerds, join me in reviling this graph which has ever so slightly different scales on the left and right vertical axes.

Those Navy pilots who blew up that boat from Venezuela have had enough time to rest and reload. Can we send them to the house of the guy who made that graph?

I do find that graph to have a threatening aura.

Pathetic. Compared to exports, import curves are slightly exaggerated. Another poster might say eggsaggerated. I would never do that.

"table egg"

I didnt know that was a thing.
As opposed to "hatching eggs". Tractor Supply has been advertising on Youtube. I have heard of "table grapes" which are the sweet ones rather than the wine grapes. An agriculture term, I'm guessing.
