Darren Beattie, the founder of the conservative online news source “Revolver,” will serve as the acting under secretary for public diplomacy and public affairs beginning on Monday, ABC News reported.

Beattie served as a speechwriter during the first Trump administrationbut was terminated in 2018

After being fired as a speechwriter in 2018, Beattie worked for former representative Matt Gaetz.

He was then re-hired by the Trump administration and appointed to a three-year term as the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, which was met with backlash from the Anti-Defamation League.

The Anti-Defamation League called his appointment at the time “outrageous” because his position would require him to preserve Holocaust memorials in Europe after he was affiliated with white nationalists by speaking at the conference in 2016.

It looks like this gentleman is being falsely characterized by the far left media.

I don't recall this man's name, but I found this:

"According to the Washington Post, "Beattie – who is Jewish – insisted that he was not racist and said in a statement.

“In 2016 I attended the [H.L. Mencken Club] conference in question and delivered a stand-alone, academic talk titled ‘The Intelligentsia and the Right.’ I said nothing objectionable and stand by my remarks completely," the statement said. "It was the honor of my life to serve in the Trump Administration. I love President Trump, who is a fearless American hero, and continue to support him one hundred percent.”

At the end of the Trump administration, in November 2020, the Trump White House appointed Beattie to a three-year term with the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, which helps preserve sites related to the Holocaust
."

And it looks like he's been working for the government even now under Biden so he's just getting a promotion.

It does look like this is more cancel culture at work than anything. He's a right leaning Jewish man - how "white supremacist" does giving a single academic talk that a racist shows up to really make a person anyway?

Not liking the candidate a person supports or his selling merchandise for profit and having "wrong think" doesn't make someone a racist.

We can have different opinions without the false labels. The only thing that makes someone racist is them actually being racist.

Should we start calling everyone who supports DEI "brown supremacists" since they demand that the law apply to race unequally and favor every single race above the white races in employment and housing laws?

At least those being accused of being supremacist on the right aren't advocating for unequal application of the law based on race!

Nobody called him a "white supremacist". He was fired for attending an event alongside white supremacists.

So why is anyone upset if he's not a white supremacist?

People are bothered he gave a speech once that was a public event? That's it?

That doesn't seem reasonable to be upset over. Just saying, that's cancel culture.

Asserting that

"Competent White Men Must Be In Charge"

is a skosh problematic.

A small cleanup was done to remove some off-topic posts.

Also, FTR, promotion of marijuana use is not allowed at CF, and that's what was removed.

CNN has a subscriber-only KFile article about Beattie and three others who were too toxic for the limelight in Trump 1.0, but have new or prospective jobs in Trump 2.0.

In addition to the competent white man in the OP, we have:

#2: John Gibbs, Trump's failed nominee (despite a GOP-controlled Senate) for Office of Personnel Management Director, now at HUD

Per Wiki: Gibbs is a far-right conspiracy theorist; he has a history of making false, inflammatory, and conspiratorial remarks on his Twitterfeed, including numerous tweets promoting fringe concepts and figures. On four occasions, he spread the false conspiracy theory that John Podesta, the chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, took part in a "█████ ████," a claim propagated by far-right bloggers. In October 2016, Gibbs defended an alt-right figure who had frequently posted anti-Semitic comments and had been banned from Twitter.

#3: Anthony Tata, Trump's initial nominee for the #3 position at the Pentagon, but the nomination was withdrawn. He was given a lesser role that did not require Senate confirmation. Now, he's nominated to be undersecretary of personnel and readiness at DoD.

Per Wiki: In Twitter posts and radio-show appearances in 2017 and 2018, Tata repeatedly made the false claim that President Barack Obama was a "Muslim" and a "terrorist leader" ... claimed that the negotiation of the multilateral nuclear agreement with Iran was born by Obama's "Islamic roots." ... In August 2018, he accused former CIA Director John O. Brennan, a critic of Trump, of being a "clear and present danger" to the U.S. and called Brennan a "communist" on Fox & Friends. He ... pushed false conspiracy theories that Brennan ordered the assassination of Trump; and, on another occasion, tweeted at Brennan, "Might be a good time to pick your poison: firing squad, public hanging, life sentence ... or just suck on your pistol." Tata also made various inflammatory Twitter posts attacking Democratic politicians Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters as "violent extremists" and using a racist hashtag to criticize CNN journalist Don Lemon.

Per CNN: "Senators also expressed concern about Tata's military record. A 2007 Army investigation found he committed adultery with at least two women - a crime under miliatry law - and submitted a falsified legal document during a child support case."

#4: Leandro Rizzuto Jr, heir to the Conair [beauty products, not Nic Cage vehicle] fortune and failed ambassador nominee in Trump 1.0. Currently he is nominated to be US Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States.

Per CNN: His nomination stalled over his history of promoting conspiracy theories and using social media to spread baseless attacks on public figures, including HRC, Mitt Romney, and Ted Cruz. He amplified false claims that Ted Cruz's wife Heidi was trying to combine the governments of the US, Canada and Mexico. (And told Ted to go back to Canada.)

Oh hey Russia Russia Russia

Trump official who shut down counter-Russia agency has links to Kremlin

Darren Beattie, who alarmed the State Department with his pro-Moscow views, is married to a woman whose uncle has ties to Vladimir Putin

--

Unpaywalled regurgitation version

Yulia Kirillova grew up in Moscow, studied abroad in North America, and married Beattie in 2021 in Florida. She moved to D.C. in January. Her uncle Sergei Cherniko is a drinks magnate who had an estimated net worth of $150 million in 2005. That year, he served in Russia’s ministry of natural resources and was then deputy governor of Siberia’s Nenets region. Cherniko later served in Putin’s civic chamber from 2008 to 2010.
