Another security breach by the Trump administration.

Papers with U.S. State Department markings, found Friday morning in the business center of an Alaskan hotel, revealed previously undisclosed and potentially sensitive details about the Aug. 15 meetings between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir V. Putin in Anchorage.

Eight pages, that appear to have been produced by U.S. staff and left behind accidentally, shared precise locations and meeting times of the summit and phone numbers of U.S. government employees.

Jon Michaels, a professor of law at UCLA who lectures about national security, said that the documents found in the printer of the Alaskan hotel reveal a lapse in professional judgement in preparation for a high-stakes meeting. "It strikes me as further evidence of the sloppiness and the incompetence of the administration," said Michaels.

The four phone numbers is an issue

The pictures and proper pronunciation of names, who sites where and their public schedule for the meetings found after everything was done is not life shattering information.

Someone needs to be reprimanded or fired. But it is far from a major crisis.

Then again the left loves a crisis, even if they have to invent one

1. Page 1: Outlined the sequence of events for the summit, including precise meeting times and specific room names inside Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson where the meetings would take place. It also noted that President Trump intended to present Russian President Vladimir Putin with a ceremonial gift, described as an “American Bald Eagle Desk Statue.”

2. Pages 2–5: Contained the names of senior U.S. and Russian officials attending the summit, including phonetic pronunciations for Russian names (e.g., “POO-tihn” for Putin). Page 2 also included phone numbers for three U.S. advance staffers.

3. Pages 6–7: Detailed a seating chart and menu for a planned luncheon in honor of Vladimir Putin, which was ultimately canceled. The seating chart placed Trump and Putin at the center of the table, with Trump flanked by six U.S. officials: Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and Special Envoy for Peace Missions Steve Witkoff. Putin was to be seated next to his Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and Aide to the President for Foreign Policy Yuri Ushakov. The menu included:

• First Course: Green salad with champagne vinaigrette dressing and sourdough bread with rosemary lemon butter.

• Main Course: Choice of filet mignon with brandy peppercorn sauce or halibut Olympia, served with buttery whipped potatoes and roasted asparagus.

• Dessert: Crème brûlée with ice cream.

4. Page 8: A stylized copy of the luncheon menu, with the heading “Luncheon in honor of his excellency Vladimir Putin.”

Additionally, the documents revealed plans for a 2-on-2 meeting involving Trump and Putin, each accompanied by one aide (Trump with Steve Witkoff, his special envoy to Russia), though this was later expanded to include Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The documents also indicated an expected hour-long joint press conference, which in reality lasted only 12–15 minutes with no questions taken.

Just more flotsam, for history.

his excellency Vladimir Putin. Really?

Also, "his excellency" should be capitalized.

When were these left on the printer?

I didn't think you wrote it.

It was either the Trump people or a journalist. Either person(s) should do better.

Wasn't the dinner canceled?

I'm surprised a dinner was even on the agenda in the first place.

If I was meeting with a potentially hostile political entity from another country, on their turf, I wouldn't be eating a single thing they put in front of me.

Putin has poisoned enough of his enemies at dinner functions himself, that he knows better than to trust the meatloaf.

Per the article, the papers were found around 9 am on Friday, August 15th. Considering that they covered events from 11:30 am to 5:45 pm on Friday, August 15th, I think it's pretty clear that they were not "found after everything was done". Media didn't report on it until after everything was done, but the time of reporting is not equivalent to the time when the documents were discovered. In part, I suspect that NPR held off on reporting this information immediately because it would have been irresponsible to do so. The President's movements are generally kept secret for security reasons.

Between this incident and the one with the Atlantic being included in a military chat, sounds to me like the media is behaving more responsibly than the Trump Administration.
